GOP Rep. Louie Gohmert Goes Off on John McCain: He’s ‘Supported al-Qaeda’
Mediaite ^ | October 11th, 2013 | Josh Feldman

The Republican party is currently in the middle of a civil war of sorts, between moderate Republicans leery of tactics like defunding Obamacare and tea party conservatives sticking to their guns, crystallized by Louie Gohmert saying at the Values Voters Summit that John McCain “supported al-Qaeda.”

Gohmert took a swipe at his Senate colleague, who has been highly critical of Republicans pushing for Obamacare defunding, even suggesting2 they should be held “accountable” for lying to the GOP. That didn’t sit too well with Gohmert.

The one criticism I have had of the way the “right” is fighting Obamacare, is that they are not proposing in a concrete way, an alternative. Insurance premiums were constantly going up and it was a burden for many. My plan was excellent, but going to $15K per year. Only a few years before, it was under $10k per year.

And many did not have insurance.

I think there are so many things that could have been done to alleviate this, but the ideas were never given the chance.

I think that we should be putting together a bill to show everyone, to let them read it, to analyze it, to digest it, and tell them this is what we would do.

The ideas have been floated, but they need to be in writing and out there, conveniently available.

We would win a lot of converts if we did more than to point out the obvious failures of Obamacare.

If I am going to jump from a crashing plane, it would be nice to be handed a parachute at the door.

My $0.02.

Senator McCain, spread you fingers. Now stick out your tongue. That’s it. Hold it. It’s your new look.

The vehement feelings from some in the GOP along with Britt Hume and Karl Rove about the Tea Party has me scratching my head...the Tea Party stands firmly for the United States Constitution and less government. This seems to upset people like those mentioned...Why? My guess is that McCain, Rove etc. are more Socialist than thought...you would think those august minds would be outraged at the pettiness of Obama’s court towards our Military....that McCain would have taken to the floor over the Pelosi gathering of illegals and their sponsors on the Capital Mall while Americans were being turned away from their monuments there and across the nation. I am outraged McCain etc. was not.

McCain should be expelled from the Pub party, the fact he isn’t shows what a fraudulent opposition they are. There is 1 party of Ivy League Lawyers that rules us all. You have to kill off one side of the party before the other, and Pubs are weakest. Stop voting for Dems and Pubs, use the write-ins.

At least they can’t blame the Republicans for Obamacare. Let’s see, McCaincare, just doesn’t have the “right” ring to it.

(Now I sound like a looter in “Atlas Shrugged” - it’s now my fault, I couldn’t help it)

Civil War is on. In the short term it will delight out opponents and harm the Republican Party. In the long game it will lead to a strong party that stands over the corpse of those who simply could not fathom the harm to the country of crossing over the aisle to support the eradication of our constitution.

Wyatt huh? There seems to be on “never heard name before” ones who want to throw hat in that ring. Don’t think any “first timer” or “Who” candidates will beat out Cornwallace and the TexGOPe who back him.

“I think this is the answer. We need to come up with solutions instead of just kicking at Democrat policies. We need to give something to the public to latch onto.”

Um, NO WE DON’T! WTF is wrong with people anymore??

Sorry, but it’s this Dem-Lite mindset that has put the GOP in the position we’re currently in. Some things should simply be rejected. It’s RINO 101 to take a Dem bad idea, and attempt to make it a GOP bad idea with repackaging.

Dude, you seriously need to read what you write. You sound like a Paul Ryan RINO. We don’t want the Government sticking their grubby fingers in our health care! Your comment and mindset are problematic is so many ways.

I’m losing hope that the GOP will ever recover from the cancer that’s gotten into us!

Contact Louie and ask him to run for Senate and volunteer to work on his campaign. The polls show that We The People want 99% of the slime in DC voted out. Their arrogance blinds all the Little Hitlers in DC to the fact that the American people are livid.

Notice, it is only the new reps who are speaking out! The rest are bought and paid for!

Which shows we are slowly winning and taking over the GOP from the inside!

Of course, the same crowd that cannot find a presidential candidate perfect enough, will tell us that it is time to leave the GOP and start a new party, relegating conservatism to irrelevancy forever.

Amen to that. I read the news more for the absence of what should be there, than for the crap that is there.

I had friends in the Soviet Union that always read the news in Pravda for what was not in there. If they had an article about the greatest rocket going into space in a few days, they always waited to see if it was reported on at that time. If there was no mention of it, they knew it blew up on the pad.

If McCain were a Conservative, what news would we expect to see about him fighting the good fight. We see nothing. This means he has not launched.

Do not defund Obamacare.

The GOP needs to pass their own version.

Then REPLACE IT.

You need to put down the crack pipe! You cannot be serious! WTF!

And we wonder why our party is going to Hell. Sad that the RINO virus is trickling down to “Conservative” Republican voters.

Please tell me you are just joking with your comments??

McCain has been taking (nasty verbal) shots at Cruz, Lee, etc. - about time somebody ‘fired’ back.

Nope, I am not joking. Not in the least.

Either we need to help with insurance right now, or else we need to bring back American jobs.

As in: American jobs.

One or the other.
