“Some conservatives — like tea party favorite Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas — left the meeting upset at Obama for continuing to insist the government must reopen and the debt ceiling must be increased before he would take part in full-fledged negotiations on deficit reduction.”

Unless the Republicans totally capitulate to Pres Stompy Foot there shall be no agreement.

Keep the government shut down.

Good news. Might wake Boehner up to reality, tone his hyperactive surrender reflex down a bit, or frustrate him so that he steps down.

No room in this revolution for men without balls.

Once the Marxists have seized power it is not easy to get them out with just ‘words’. Other means will be necessary.

STAND FIRM....
Get in front of every camera you can find and put the blame where it lies, with Obama. The media will eventually be forced to admit it.

CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN/SENATOR and tell them that you support them.

They are being BOMBED by the left with calls, emails. and tweets.

Barry has rejected it because he knows he is close to getting complete capitulation from the GOP as usual.

Obama wants the debt crisis for two reasons: First it will be used to pillory the Republicans as the cause...the MSM is salivating at the prospect as are Obama thugs. Second, true to Alinsky’s rules, Obama will use the crisis to seize more power...likely by unilaterally and unconstitutionally raising spending limits himself and making Congress irrelevant for any spending limits. With no spending restraints and an impotent Congress Obama is on his way to becoming dictator.

The dumbass republicans in Washington just don't get it. The left uses Alinski tactics to get what they want. The republicans should know that by now.

“Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy THINKS you have."

The American people hate obomacare. They hate the national debt. They hate being used as slaves so the democrat base doesn't have to get out of bed in the morning to go to their own jobs.
Instead of listing to the tax slaves - those forced to pay for it all - the republicans think the lazy do nothings have all the power. They don't. The suffering middle class has all the power, and together all the votes and the funding. Speak for them (support the Tea Party) - the tax slaves - and the republicans could hold power for generations.

If they were to speak up for those who are being abused by an over bloated and oppressive government - the working people - the nation would rally by their side.

When you’re dealing with the Kenyan, you better get what YOU want before you give him anything. He’s a dishonest liar who can’t be trusted. I definitely would not buy a used car from him.

excellent !

Obama is republican’s ace in the hole !

they are trying to surrender but zero’s arrogance and hubris won’t accept it, he demands more.

If zero continues to hold out for total surrender, we may get to the debt ceiling after all, and then we get a balanced budget and republicans win after all, even if the beltway leadership is trying to throw the game

Just a thought, Obama says he won't “negotiate with a gun to (his) head” -—
What if the “trigger” is already pulled?
What if Congress allows the deadlines to pass?
Does that not change the dynamics a bit?

The people screaming the loudest about the shutdown seem to be the furloughed federal employees. Saw one chippy on tv whining that while she will eventually be paid, she has a mortgage to pay, so she needs her check NOW! Good Grief, Woman! Don't you have some money saved for such emergencies? Guess not.

Seems to be a typical federal mindset. Spend, spend, spend and don't bother saving because there will always be money coming in.

Alas, these idiots are the ones who make the news. Military, survivors, vets, people whose livelihood depends on federal sites — they aren't important. The king doesn't care about them.

The interesting ingredient in all this is that ... the government has been shut down for 12 days and there is no devastation ... no one really cares. Before it happened there was all this worry and concern and then .. nothing after it happened. Won’t some member of Congress point this out? we don’t need all this government ... therefore we CAN cut it and reduce it
