Vets Prepare for Significant Benefits Delays (To democrats, welfare cases more important than vets)

The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (www.dvnf.org), a non-profit veterans service organization that focuses on helping men and women who serve and return home wounded or sick after defending our safety and our freedom, is reminding veterans affected by the government shutdown to prepare for delayed benefits in the event of a long term shutdown.

With news that the Department of Veterans Affairs furloughed some 7,000 employees of regional offices of the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), the government shutdown is beginning to take a profound effect on the veterans it serves. As the House, Senate, and White House attempt to negotiate a budget deal to end the shutdown, there is no way to know how long the process will take.

The last time the government shut down was at the end of 1995 and did not end until January of 1996, a 21-day ordeal. As VA Sec. Shinseki pointed out to lawmakers in a Wednesday hearing, that shutdown took place during peacetime, whereas we have been engaged in Afghanistan for 13 years. He stated that a prolonged shutdown would be devastating to veterans, especially given the rate at which veterans have enrolled in VA care compared to the 1990′s.

I’m retired from the Air Force and don’t much bother with the VA. I have Tricare Plus, for me and wife. I get to see a doctor when I want to see a doctor and she fills all my prescriptions. I could get all this down for free at the VA, but it takes forever and I don’t like most of their doctors.

There is no such thing as a conservative democrat. Impossible to believe in sodomite “marriage” and murdering babies and be a conservative. Any democrat that claims they are conservative needs a reality check. And that goes for anybody in the military that votes democrat.

I have never voted for a Democrat and never will. My moral compass is driven by my love of Jesus Christ, and the Democrats are anathema to God. But the Republicans are leaving me. Even today, the only thing they said on the Sunday shows was they wanted to bake in the Sequester, which harms the military vastly more than anything else in this nation. That is shameful.

I offer my retort!
“I, an Air Force vet, served 3 years straight, at that lovely little airbase named U-Tapao Royal Thai Naval Airfield, home of the B-52d, KC-135, U-2, the adopted ‘breakdown facility’ of the C-5a, second home of the Cessna O-2, the AC-130(no tail number version), and the C-130.”
Lousy? No. I swore an oath to defend my country, from folks outside the U.S., and, you. So, I invite you to join me under a very large, very old Southern Oak tree, located in Central City Park, in New Orleans, on a foggy morning (before you go retrieve your Starbucks drink), so that I might water that three, in the old traditional fashion.
