Walmart shelves in Springhill, Mansfield, cleared in EBT glitch
KSLA ^

Posted on 10/14/2013 3:16:11 AM PDT by Red in Blue PA

Shelves in Walmart stores in Springhill and Mansfield, LA were reportedly cleared Saturday night, when the stores allowed purchases on EBT cards even though they were not showing limits.

The chaos that followed ultimately required intervention from local police, and left behind numerous carts filled to overflowing, apparently abandoned when the glitch-spurred shopping frenzy ended. Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd confirms they were called in to help the employees at Walmart because there were so many people clearing off the shelves. He says Walmart was so packed, "It was worse than any black Friday" that he's ever seen. Lynd explained the cards weren't showing limits and they called corporate Walmart, whose spokesman said to let the people use the cards anyway. From 7 to 9 p.m., people were loading up their carts, but when the cards began showing limits again around 9, one woman was detained because she rang up a bill of $700.00 and only had .49 on her card. She was held by police until corporate Walmart said they wouldn't press charges if she left the food. Lynd says at 9 p.m., when the cards came back online and it was announced over the loud speaker, people just left their carts full of food in the aisles and left.

"Just about everything is gone, I've never seen it in that condition," said Mansfield Walmart customer Anthony Fuller.

Evans believes it was natural human reaction that led people to fill up their carts during the glitch, but Walmart shoppers Stan and Judy Garcia feel very differently. "That's plain theft, that's stealing that's all I got to say about it," said Garcia.

Especially distinctive are the clothes they wear. Cheaom over-sized t-shirts and baseball caps that advertise the most obscure things one can imagine. Like they were just picked out of the lost and found.

Walmart is probably the biggest beneficiary of EBT customers. They probably think of it as good PR.

After 8 years of Clinton and the constant use of “SNAFU”, when it comes to democrats and screw up’s I stopped believing in “just coincidence” years ago.

I don’t have a doubt in my mind it was intentional.

Since when, in civilized society, do we accept lawlessness and theft, mob behavior as non punishable because it is natural human behavior?

(It costs about $1500 a year to own a large dog about $780/year for a small one, cats about $640/year)

My 14-month Akita (100 pounds) costs about $1.50/day to feed with excellent dog food + people food cooked for him and maybe another $100/year in mandated shots (will be less now that he is no longer a puppy and shots are every 3 years), checkups, nail clipping, plus $10/month tick repellent. His neuter was $200. The 15-year-old cat (12 pounds) will only eat Meow Mix, gets shots every few years. I doubt she costs me over $.50/day. She also hunts every day and is a great mouser.

I’m sure Walmart weighed a destructive riot and Federal discrimination charges over some lost inventory and took the less expensive route.

This is the free lunch crowd that elects and supports Obama.

It's also the 'voter fraud crowd' that elects and supports Obama...

And the 'we beat up white people' criminals of the knockout game...

Walmart is complicit in the EBT system. Imagine being a retailer with customers who are spending other people’s money! They don’t care how much things cost! Walmart is entirely designed to take full advantage of redistribution (theft) of wealth by the socialist government. People who pay taxes should not be shopping at walmart, they are the enemy.

Those walmarts that allowed the purchases had probably heard what happened here:

“Evans believes it was natural human reaction that led people to fill up their carts during the glitch,
That ain’t my definition of natural...... “

Not my definition of human!

The human race/races have begun their bifurcation into a set of races with morals and class and a huge segment of human debris.

Such human debris, while diverse, is bringing civilization down to its level at break neck speed. Only Islam can do this destruction faster.

A farmer planting 14% weeds/invasive vines in with his crops is technically creating diversity but he would be doing the same thing as we are by embracing and defending human debris and parasites into our culture.

Kayla Whaling, a spokesperson for Walmart, tells KSLA News 12 that the company was "fully engaged and monitoring the situation and transactions during the outage." "We did make the decision to continue to accept EBT cards (and purchases on WIC and SNAP) during the outage so that they could get food for their families."

As the tears fall. Liberal moanings like this make me sick to my stomach.

“Or will the government just eat the loss?”

Government NEVER eats the loss, the American Taxpayer eats the loss and also helps to insure the next generation of these street monkeys.

Click on the link in 94. The Walmarts in the posted story probably decided that ‘orderly checkout’ even if they were essentially still ‘robbing the joint’ was less dangerous to their other customers and employees than the free for all in the Philadelphia store might have become.

I wonder just how many other stores had similar problems.

That’s the PC explanation. In reality the stores were afraid of an all out riot that would endanger their employees and other customers. Click the link in post 94 to see what would have happened had they shut down EBT ‘purchases’ altogether.

Excellent point, but more like 16.6% weeds.
