FAISALABAD, Oct 8: Traders subjected two robbers to severe torture, leaving one of them dead, after a vendor was shot dead during a robbery bid at a jewellery shop at Mamunkanjan on Tuesday.

Two robbers entered the shop owned by Shahid in Purana Dakhana Bazaar, Mamunkanjan. As the shop owner put up resistance, the panicked outlaws opened indiscriminate fire. A bullet hit Tanveer Ali, a vendor present outside the shop, who died on the spot.

The traders retaliated the fire and forced the robbers to flee the market. They gave a chase to outlaws and finally nabbed them.

The furious traders subjected the both robbers to severe torture and tied one of them to a pole and dowsed him with petrol as the mob gathering there chanted slogans demanding the outlaws be set on fire.

Meanwhile, the police concerned reached there and tried to get custody of the robbers. But the traders would not hand them over to the police.

Pakistani justice. We can be envious of their ability to render justice to two thieves but Pakistan being Pakistan and Muslim needlessly called for torture and inhumane treatment.
We can't applaud mob rule. It would have been better just to shoot the SOBs and be done with it. These are horrible societies where punishment must be metted out in the cruelest possible way.

But, you can certainly be sure that the word will get around and nobody can mess with those people again. The biggest problem in American justice system (and I use the term justice loosely) is that the court system is slow and the punishment system even slower. If someone is sentenced to death, it may be from old age…

Say what you like about Pakistan, but they clearly know how to deal with thieves and murderers.

I don’t want to derail the topic, but your picture fascinated me. My Dad and I always use the “world’s smallest violin” analogy. Where could I find something like that, case included?

Thanks for the song, too!

Agreed.

It seems to me we should be able to find a workable and just point somewhere between the two extremes - but I doubt we will as long as “progressives” are running our law schools.

There is something about instant justice that is particularly satisfying.

But, torture is sick. An immediate bullet to the brain is the best response to violent thugs.

Fair to middlin’ chance that the shop-owners just started a feud with the robber’s families and there will have to be an exchange of blood money to settle it.
That is how this crap works in Moslem society.
