46% Want Democrats to Control Congress, 45% Prefer GOP In Charge (Rasmussen today)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | October 15, 2013

After two weeks of a partial government shutdown, ask voters which party they want in charge of Congress, and - it’s a draw.

Right now, Democrats control the U.S. Senate, and Republicans have the majority in the House of Representatives. Forty-six percent (46%) of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for the Democratic Party to be in charge of the entire Congress if their vote in next year’s elections was the determining factor. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just as many (45%) would vote for the Republican Party to be totally in control.

Though this isn't good news it's not as bad as the news the media has been manufacturing from one skewed WSJ/NBC poll released last week.

Ask those same people who is currently in control of the Senate.

In 2008, many Democrats thought the Republicans held the House and Senate when they held neither.

That's kind of a poorly designed question, though it's better than nothing. Those not voting for Republicans might be because they're too spineless and timid in their opposition to tyranny.

Better question would be: Would you prefer Congress to be in controlled by those who (a) will go along with whatever President Obama proposes, or (b) will try to cut spending, taxation, and regulation, and generally try to make the federal government less involved in your life, even if they have to oppose the President to do so?

I think that you should have to pass a test as to who is currently in control to even be able to vote.

On the other hand, when the same pollsters asked if Miley Cyrus would be a more effective Speaker of the House than the old white guy who currently has the job, 67% said yes. /s

I wish I could be excited about this - but these are the exact same pollsters who were so certain that Romney was gonna win the 2012 elections by a landslide. If it was any other pollster I would be a lot more excited about this.

It’s funny I have never spoken to anyone that has been polled by these groups. I have as much belief in them as I do in, No I have a lot more belief in Santa Clause then these polls.

Being from Virginia, I’m wondering what the lead Mcauliffe actually has if any. The local news is constantly reporting for Mcauliffe and the Mcauliffe ads outnumber Cuccinelli at least five to one. If Mcauliffe is really leading by seven percent why all the fuss.

ras was bought out and has been very pro left in their polling. PEW released a poll today where a LARGE plurality of people said by a significant amount, that they think Republicans are better at handling the economy. It must really be bad in the rat’s internal polling.

And, just by sheer coincidence, 46% of the country pays zero Federal taxes... and probably never will.
