Reid: Ted Cruz is a self-absorbed "laughing stock"

It's no secret that Sen. Ted Cruz's quixotic effort to leverage the government shutdown and debt ceiling fights into an undoing of the president's health-care law didn't exactly make him Mr. Congeniality on Capitol Hill.

Democrats - and even many Republicans - have taken Cruz, R-Texas, to task for his hard-ball tactics, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., brought the criticism to new heights in an interview with the Huffington Post, calling Cruz a self-absorbed "laughing stock."

"Ted Cruz, well, he proved he has a great fundraising operation," Reid said in the interview published Thursday. "But you don't have to have Harry Reid criticizing him. Republicans criticized him. What do you think that vote was last night from Republicans? That was a message to Ted Cruz: 'What the hell are you doing?'"

We were supposed to roll over and submit after being thoroughly demoralized. Happily that clearly hasn’t happened and now they’re scared.

They're hoping to demonize him and destroy his ability to lead a conservative battle against their destructive agenda.

Harry, get used to it, we're not going away, your agenda, and its lead program of Bambicare is rotten to the core and you can't hide it.

Aren’t there Congressional rules against members treating other members disrespectfully? It wouldn’t mean much, but it would be nice to see Dirty Harry slapped on the wrist for his oral ugliness.

“Cruz is my senator....”

How I envy you.

Thank-you and your fellow Texans for sending this fine man to Washington.

I hope you’re willing to share him with the rest of the country in 2016.... a President Cruz would be terrific for America.

The power has shifted in the Senate, and Harry Reid doesn’t like it. There will be at least one man who will be standing in Reid’s way at every turn.

There will likely be no more unanimous consents on major issues, policies or nominees. There will be votes.

But Harry Reid has them. He has 55 democrats and a number of republican who will join them. So what is he worried about?? Well...it’s an election year, and the natural follow up to voting is being held accountable. And over the shoulders of EVERY senator, not just those up for reelection next November, but also those beyond, is a vigilant and watching populace.

isthenamecool, he looks like Warren Jeffs. Creepy!

Bookman, they’re pissed and afraid because Cruz signed a very bright light on them. The $174,000 for the widow of a millionaire member of their club proves it’s all about them.

He was reminded of this about three weeks ago, when he came out and said “let’s tone it down” LET’S - as if he wasn’t the worst offender.

Now this. And it was senator cornyn who reminded him, looking to score some points, no doubt. Where’s Cornyn now?

You keep that smug attitude of lordship, Hairy. Cruz sorta has that look of a man who might end up to be the Gary Cooper character in High Noon.

Our members of Congress have turned into elitists. They don’t listen to the public.

So says the most self-absorbed, corrupt jackass in the Senate (and, to be sure, the competition for that title is keen).

I am proud to have done my small part in getting Cruz elected, and he has made me very happy since taking his oath of office.
