Conservative Group Backs Challenge To 'Liberal' McConnell (NO MORE RINOs!!!)
NPR ^ | 10/18/2013 | ADAM WOLLNER

Days after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell helped negotiate a deal to end the government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling, a prominent conservative group endorsed his primary challenger.

The Senate Conservatives Fund officially backed Tea Party favorite Matt Bevin Friday in Kentucky's 2014 Senate race, arguing he is "a full-spectrum conservative with the courage to stand up to the Washington establishment" while McConnell "has a liberal record and refuses to fight for conservative principles."

SCF has had McConnell in its cross hairs for months. In mid-September, the group launched a television advertising campaign attacking McConnell for not doing enough to defund the Affordable Care Act. It also ran radio ads in August calling on McConnell to oppose funding for Obamacare.

Bevin could use the financial support from SCF, which raised more than $16 million during the 2012 elections, if he hopes to pull off the upset. He brought in just $220,000 from July to September, while contributing $600,000 of his own money to the campaign. McConnell raised nearly $2.3 million during the same period and has more than $10 million on hand.

“McConnell raised nearly $2.3 million during the same period and has more than $10 million on hand.”

Money didn’t help Bob Bennett.

NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO, nuff right there. They are paid to keep with tax dollars to keep those that feed them in power. Yep, I’d go with the new guy and dump all of the rotten people that can’t seem to understand simple math, simple English and simple economics. I’d like to see them run their household budget this way, see them go bankrupt and maybe go to jail.

Good for the SCF. NPR writes about McConnell as if he is a good guy, which he is.... to the Left.

McConnell should just switch to his true party, the Democrats.

How many times does NPR refer to groups as liberal (whoops sorry, I mean progressive). Just saying.

I doubt seriously if McConnell has ever worried about a budget, bills or income. He’s been in Congress so long that lack of running money is not a problem for him.

McConnell "has a liberal record and refuses to fight for conservative principles."

He was being praised by the MSNBC crew on Hardball today for his courage and statesmanship. They love him.

I would love for Gohmert to primary Cornyn.

I have sent Gohmer multiple Tweets (and others have also) and I sent a private e-mail to him entreating him to run.

Glenn Beck has spoken with Gohmert also trying to convince him to run.

So far, I hear he is NOT considering it. However, if enough people keep encouraging him, he might change his mind.

There are three other no-name candidates challenging Cornyn, but none have the name recognition nor the war chest nor the ground personnel. I think it is commendable they are challenging, but they don’t have a prayer.

A challenger has to file by December 9th if he/she is going to primary Cornyn.

Yes, I have been watching them and I agree they are not viable candidates. However, unless someone like Gohmert jumps in, I will vote for one of the no-name three because I will never vote for Cornyn.
