The country has been completely taken over in a bloodless coup (that will, invariably, become a bloody reprisal on the citizens). The money all went to the Democrat voting machine. No matter how many liberals are incensed and will never vote Democrat again, the money that will pour into 2014 will buy the Democrat seats. Sure-fire Republican districts will mysteriously go Democrat.
Get a passport and an exit plan.
Once the Democrats cement the 2014 elections, and have supermajorities in the House and Senate, I give the country about 1 year until the whole house of cards comes tumbling down, including a dissolution of the United States into a couple of distinct new countries. They will all be communist, outright.

If a person brought a perfect running car into my shop I would charge more to destroy or sabotage it than if it came in with a real problem in the first place, because it would require more time and effort to masterfully create hidden problems.
