Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) told C-SPAN’s Washington Journal on Wednesday that as a member of Congress, he’ll be forced to get his own insurance through the Obamacare exchanges, and that he thinks taxpayers should continue helping him pay his premiums.

Members of Congress, like Barton, get paid $174,000 per year, and, as Barton noted on C-SPAN, he also gets a subsidy of more than $10,800 per year to pay for his health insurance. …

At least Sen. Corker, squishy as he is, said on Fox today that he won’t be taking the 75% subsidy that Congressmen have been getting for health care. Who knew that we were paying that much for these wealthy “public servants” to have their Cadillac federal health plan?

Where do I get my subsidy for health insurance? My employer? Well yes. I guess I do. But wait, don’t they also have to pay the government to employ me? And where does my “employer subsidy come from”? That’s right, the wealth I contribute to my company through my work as an employee. We don’t go collect other people’s money to pay for my insurance (outside the company).

But alas, the government does not produce anything. They only collect revenue by means of the sword (which used to be called a law).

$174k per year plus bennies (travel, housing, and the healthcare is for life) and a full time staff for a part time job with no responsibilities.

Where do I sign up?

Cornyn was on FOX News this morning. Got asked about this and looked like a deer caught in headlights. He had the gall to claim he was getting an “employer contribution” to pay for the gold plan. Who does he think he’s kidding? DUM BASS!

Don't forget the cushy job on K Street as a million dollar lobbyist after putting in a few years as a Congressman.

Our RINO congressman, knowing he would lose the next election, retired and got a seven figure job on K Street,

He now spends his days lecturing conservatives that they will have to yield on amnesty, spending, abortion, and Obamacare.

their salary means nothing!

These guys live tax free off of their campaign funds. Second, they are not subject to insider trading laws - they exempted themselves. Check the net worth of when these crooks enter office vs now. Try to adjust for legitimate growth in assets and you will find all but the really stupid or ethical ones are very wealthy, and it comes from under the table money.
