Arthurus, this is NOT new. It’s just reported more. The police of my father’s generation split your skull for just talking back. Not advocating that either, but when the police told you to get off the corner you did. And if you got an urban turban for your trouble, then people back then didn’t blame the police, they blamed you.

The police of my father’s generation split your skull for just talking back.....A little hyperbole, I’m sure. When I stopped, frisked some people and ‘advised’ them to head home, (You are pissed, drunk or being off your meds) and I was told to “go F yourself!” I merely took control of the situation and stopped more horsepoopy from going down for the rest of my shift. In the morning, if they acted like anything near to a rational person, I’d open the cell bars and tell them “don’t come back.” Most always asked “What am I being prosecuted / arrested for?” I said Nothing, for being a dumbass and not hurting anybody else. I had a LOT of gratuitous informants. I didn’t work for fines.

Back then the police didn't shoot as their first action. And "fleeing felons" were liable to get shot if they did not stop when ordered. I did hear, "stop or I will shoot you ass!" once, long ago. I stopped. According to the item, the officer yelled for the kid to drop the gun then immediately shot him. No one called the officer to the scene with a complaint. The kid was a target of opportunity. This is not an isolated incident. This is police SOP. Either the nation will become 1935 Russia with its NKVD in its several iterations and a totally cowed populace, or people will start to fight back. There is obviously no judicial or legislative recourse.
