Ooops: State Health Benefits Site Gave 8,000 People Bum Premium Quotes
Seattle Weekly ^ | October 25, 2013 | Daniel Person

The Washington state health exchange site was the toast of the communistic-takeover-of-healthcare town for a while. But now the cancer that is the federal government’s botched roll out of the Affordable Care Act has spread to the Evergreen state.

Washington’s Heath Benefits Exchange said today that a miscommunication between it and the federal government caused the online system to quote health care premiums that were lower than what people were actually entitled to. The exchange says 8,000 people were affected. We have a call in to see how far off the calculations were.

The customers affected will be receiving letters informing them that they were quoted wrong. We humbly suggest that right-wing radio in town call these Obummer Letters.

NO WONDER they led the nation with 35,000 enrollments. The site worked like EBT cards at WalMart!

This is the company run by The First Lady’s BFF and
Valerie Jarrett’s child. What could possibly go wrong?

So if you went and cancelled your current insurance to be effective on Jan 1st, what happens if the new quote is more than your current insurance? Can you back to the old insurance?

If a private company had done this, there would be at least twenty separate class-action lawsuits in the works at this very moment.

And at the hearings on Obamacare yesterday it was revealed that the website is deliberately giving 49 year olds quotes for 27 year olds, and 64 year olds quotes for 50 year olds - imagine the surprise when those folks get the real bills......

Sample "apology" letter being sent out.

Dear Mr. Dupe,
Congratulations on being our 1 millionth customer to the web site - you were awarded the prize of being first to sign up. We understand that the policy you contracted to purchase was listed at $356/month, but that was a minor error. The actual price is $3,560/month. I hope you take this as a simple and harmless misunderstanding because you signed a contract and that contract is now part of the law of the land. In other words, you are stuck...schmuck.
