LIES OF OBAMACARE: THE BOOK OF EZEKIEL
Powerline ^ | 10/26/2013 | Scott Johnson

Posted on 10/26/2013 5:28:37 AM PDT by markomalley

Fox News Channel’s Megyn Kelly grilled Ezekiel Emanuel last night on the foundational lies of Obamacare, with a focus on Obama’s relentlessly repeated falsehood that if you like your health plan, you can keep it. The older brother of Rahm Emanuel and Ari Emanuel, Ezekiel Emanuel is a physician, a former Obama adviser, a vocal proponent of Obamacare and a big advocate of the government takeover of health care. When Kelly homes in on the issues at hand, Emanuel takes a predictable approach. He changes the subject and decries Kelly’s interruptions seeking to direct him to the point. The video of Kelly’s segment with Emanuel (below) begins with a useful compilation of Obama retailing the foundational lies of Obamacare.

(video at link)

Emanuel’s treatment of the cancellation of individual and family health insurance policies as a result of Obamacare is notably dishonest. For a graphic illustration of the phenomenon Kelly bores in on, see Michelle Malkin’s “Obama lied, my health plan died.” James Capretta addresses the underlying problem in “Obamacare’s mugged by reality moment.” Capretta explains:

The other reality now emerging is that millions of Americans are going to be pushed into these exchanges against their wishes, and they aren’t going to like what they see.

The problem will be most acute for the 19 million or so people who today purchase individual insurance. As industry expert Robert Laszewski has pointed out, today’s individual market is essentially being replaced by the Obamacare exchanges. Some insurance plans can continue operating into 2014 outside of the exchanges if they are “grandfathered.” But very few insurance plans qualify for grandfathered status under Obamacare because the rules strictly prohibit even the smallest changes in coverage or cost-sharing. Consequently, about 16 million Americans will shortly find out that they can’t keep the plans they have.

If and when they are able to look at their options on healthcare.gov or the state-built websites, many of these consumers will quickly become unhappy. The Obama administration keeps arguing that the premiums in the exchanges are below what was expected, based on hypothetical estimates produced by the Congressional Budget Office four years ago. But that’s not the relevant comparison. Consumers want to know how much more they are going to pay for insurance under Obamacare in 2014 than what the pre-Obamacare market offers them today.

The Heritage Foundation has carefully looked at this question, and the results are dismaying. The average family of four will see a premium increase in the exchanges of 10 to 30 percent. For young Americans, the premium hikes are much worse, in the range of 50 to 100 percent or more for 27-year-olds, including 71 percent in Nebraska and 170 percent in Georgia. And these premiums are for plans with, in most cases, very high deductibles, ranging from $2,000 to $2,500 for the so-called silver plans and $4,000 or more for bronze plans.

Coming soon, a proposed law to be titled “If You Like Your Health Plan, You Can Keep It Act,” courtesy of Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson.

Imagine if a real conservative, with a quick mind, had questioned Zeke Emmanuel.......

The “physicians” that are paraded out to support Obama’s socialized medicine are old ideologues or people that are employed by big government entities, universities, and organizations dependent on government spending or control such as large hospitals. Private physicians know that this will be a disaster and remain opposed. The people will suffer but big institutions that are unaccountable will prosper.

-——Emanuel is the son of Benjamin M. Emanuel and Marsha (Smulevitz) Emanuel, and is a divorced father of three daughters. His two younger brothers are Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel and Hollywood-based talent agent Ari Emanuel. He has an adopted sister, Shoshana Emanuel. [7] His father’s brother, Emanuel, was killed in the 1936 Arab Riots in the British Mandate of Palestine, after which the family changed its name from Auerbach to Emanuel in his honor.[8]——

What a nice Amish family. The family that steals together, prospers together

Megyn did fine. She had Emanuel acting like the hysterical little queen that he is.

Fraud on the whole country is an impeachable offense. Obama’s approval numbers will tank as this all shakes out to the point of impeachment ripeness. Will any of the D Senators seeking reelection in redstates become desperate enough to throw an impeachment grenade? Even Linda Graham is getting out in front of the #AlinskyObamacare Parade. Repeal ObamaCare. Si se puede.

One simple question for old Zeke: "Zeke, will you be participating in Obamacare?"

...well, I can think of a few more......

Besides, when folks are “connected” like Zeke is.....he could officially “parrticipate” without ever really feeling the “pain” of waiting, being denied care, etc. Bit of a red herring question for one well connected individual.

Now, as far as a question for a certain universe of people: guv workers or congressional staffers etc...on that level its a damned fine question.

Ezekiel sure is participating. He is the author of the Complete Lives System, the rationing of medical care, and Obamcare. No wonder he is so cocky when being interviewed. He is feeling quite powerful right about now, and answers to no one. He is evil, cold-hearted and a snake.

Virtually no one No. One. will be happy with the cost or the services rendered. (young and old respectively)

Dems will be forced to retreat. Or lose their job.

How much of a retreat seems the only open question.

Megyn did a good job. But she let that lying clown get away with a whopper on pre-existing conditions. All that rhetoric about ObamaCare covering all pre-existing conditions is as big a lie as everything else they’ve been saying about the “benefits” of the plan.

...and, you know, there may be a silver lining.

Health insurance is being decoupled from employment, which sets the stage for the customer to be directly involved again with their health providers, doctors, and purchasing choices.

Dems will push toward single payer. R's will rule in '14 and be able to put some free market economics back into a malfunctioning system.

At least, thats the world according to moi'...

Glad you posted the 2009 WSJ article. This guy is "Dr. Death Panel," and a simple bully.

However he dresses it up, he's really just another in a long line of Progressive eugenicists who "just knows more about it than you do."

More people need to see the curve he uses, shown in the WSJ article, and also to read and re-read his distinction without a difference to grasp how this creep thinks, how discriminating against older Americans isn't really discriminating against older Americans.

Megan did a fine job, actually hold herself back and being overly polite, perhaps because she would like this gas bag back to allow him more opportunity to boast about his ideas.

Note how simple questions that could have otherwise been easily answered with a measured response become instead chattering, angry sophistry aimed at George Bush and Republicans. The administration and its supporters decide they must use an axe to thread a stitch and Dr. Zeke claims anyone who questions their methods have "presented no credible alternative."

The thing more American need to understand is this guy is a true believer, actually lobbying for his abhorrent positions with fervor.

There's no negotiating with him, like the Nazis. And that's an idea that would get a rise out of him, an arguably easy task. And his hate for "Republicans," really only an abstraction divorced from reality, is aimed equally at centrists and conservative.

The horrors never end once an unnatural measure of an individual's "quality of life" becomes an official standard for measuring an individual's intrinsic "value."

How many people in your family, or among your neighbors, near and far, would be determined to be leading "lives not worth living" when government, acting as the ruler rather than as a servant of "society" decides it must determine "how to allocate limited medical resources?"

You can be sure, when push comes to shove, urbane and connected White elitists like he and his brothers will pull the plug on your grandmother in flyover country before shutting down life support for their own kin.

After all, "everybody knows" the Chicago mayor is of more value "to society" than your grandmother, or mother, in the warped and sick standard of measure tallied up in "life-years."

More people need to grasp how truly dangerous this fearful little man has now become, and why.
