“I’m sure they’d be aghast that we’ve endured this extent of abuse without revolting. “

I think we can look at ratios here. They had from about 1735 to 1775 to revolt and only needed minimal supplies to then revolt. We have to have far more supplies that are much more expensive and we need much more of it all. We have had about, just my opinion, from 1965 to coming up on 2015 to get ready. I think a revolt is coming, but certain things must be in place and happen for it to be a prepared and moral uprising.

“The CATO Institute has investigated and found Cruz to be an American Citizen .. END OF CONVERSATION!!!!!”

While I totally agree Cruz is natural born, there is one thing going through my mind: I don’t care if a space alien wants to be president right now if he is a leader of my values for this nation. We have millions of natural born citizen that are flaming liberals that would destroy this nation, so being a natural born citizen means nothing to for loyalty, and that was the whole purpose of the clause.

Have you ever read ‘Minor v. Happersett’? It doesn’t conclude anything of the sort. I know if you read it on the Internet it must be true because “no one can put anything on the Internet that isn’t true”, however, that is false, too. People pass lies to each other over and over until someday someone like you quotes it as gospel.

The affirmation of judgment in Minor v. Happersett merely states they agree that a one form of natural born citizen is by two parents of a child born in the US, but in no way do they exclude any other natural born citizenship, as stated, “For the purposes of this case it is not necessary to solve these doubts.” They did not go into the other means of natural citizenship, so they did not exclude them.

Sometimes you have to go to war with what you've got, or risk losing everything. I was just telling my nine year old about Washington's winter in Valley Forge, and how the Americans suffered deficiencies in every form throughout the war -- yet they prevailed against the world's greatest power.

It was because they were fighting for a just cause, their families, their property, and their very lives. The exact same dynamics are at work in our time, and I predict that the next revolution will produce the same result as the first.

The only question is, what's it going to take to ignite the fuse? This health care disaster just might be it.

Ted Cruz was born to a fully qualified US citizen working temporarily in Canada. He’s a natural born citizen and is qualified in every respect to be president. Much more qualified than most other candidates. Check his record in defending the constitution, individual rights and states rights. The man is a pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-constitution, pro-gun, pro-drilling, pro-borders, pro-small government, pro-America, patriotic conservative. Hey, that’s just the kind of man we’re looking for on FR! If he runs and he’s the strongest conservative running, you can bet this website will support him to the hilt!! Hope you don’t mind. Hope you don’t troll against our conservative candidates.

Frankly, Ted Cruz’ father would make a better president, would fulfil the founders wishes about who should be a good candidate for president than 99.9% of those who might run as the demonrat candidate..........

“This health care disaster just might be it”

It certainly added to the ranks of people upset about the government and backed a number of people, millions really, into a corner. We have had many divisive acts over the past 12 years of so that cause people to think about who they are and what they believe. No longer can anyone really ignore the situation. Everyone is affected.

“Ted Cruz’ father would make a better president”

I heard his interview. He was perfectly spot on as an American. I can see where Ted got his values.

Loyalty of both roots (the parents) to these United States, is the basis of “natural born citzen” in our Constitution, as previously stated; that is no theory.

One of those roots must be an American citizen. The other root must show in life to the moment of birth (or have shown, if such root predeceases the moment of birth), a dedication to be an American citizen.

If one or both roots are not American citizens yet shown to be loyal, then the child must be born on U.S. territory, to achieve the bar.

Any court decision that evades are diminishes the original intent of the higher bar - ie loyalty of both roots - is invalid and irrelevant.

Dear jimrob,

I do not question the man’s political qualifications. I think his head is in the right place.

But since the country did not question the current occupant’s nbc qualifications to be president, I suppose “they” won’t question Senator Cruz’s.

And there’s no need to question his status as he’s NBC by birth. And there’s no need to try to foul it up. He’s the best thing going for us at this time. Fits the bill perfectly.

NO MORE RINOS!! To hell with the GOP-e!!

Run, Ted, RUN!!

They started this with a false comparison. Swartzeneggar has no parents that were US citizens.

Our LAWS say a person has citizenship at birth under certain conditions and Cruz meets those conditions. Any idiot that cannot understand that is an idiot that wants to re-write law. Hopefully they never serve on a jury as they are too stupid to understand plain English.

There is a difference between a Citizen and a "natural born Citizen" or the two terms would not be written as separate terms in the Constitution.

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.
I don't doubt Cruz is a Citizen but he does not meet the NBC definition.

The idea that all persons who are a citizen at birth, are "natural born citizens' cannot possibly be accepted for the simple reason that NO part of the Constitution can be interpreted in such a way as to make any other part of the Constitution irrelevant.

What that means is that the Constitution MUST be interpreted in such a way that every word is relevant. The idea that "Citizen at birth" equates to "natural born Citizen" ignores the word natural. If the intention was otherwise, they would have simply said a born Citizen, or a Citizen at birth.

There are two types of law. There is "positive law", this is man-made law, such as the Constitution, laws from Congress, state law, and so on. And then there is "natural law", this is the law of nature.

So, the term "natural born Citizen" means exactly what it says, a Citizen at birth according to natural law. A natural law is one that is unwritten. So a Citizen by natural law, would be a Citizen that would require no man made, "positive", law to be a Citizen. So, when is someone a citizen without need of any positive law? When they can be nothing else.

There are 4 basic variables governing citizenship.

  1. Born in or out of a country.
  2. Both parents are citizens.
  3. One parent is a citizen.
  4. Neither parent is a citizen.
The first (where born) is combined with the other 3 to determine whether or not a child is a citizen at birth. There are laws written to govern every situation, except one. The only situation not covered by positive law is when a child is born in a country, and both parents are citizens of that country. Because no law is required, the child is a citizen "naturally". Both sides want to ignore this fact.

Ted Cruz does not meets the NBC clause because Ted Cruz is a US citizen by statutory law, as written in the Immigration and Nationality Act, (either section 301, or section 320), not natural law, which is in plain English..

From the Supreme Court’s ruling in Minor v. Happersett (1874): “The Constitution does not say in words who shall be natural born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that.”

The term is undefined in U.S. Law. There are no notes or minutes from the meetings of the Constitutional Convention that define the term.

It has become common law practice since the adoption of the citizenship clause of the 14th Amendment to merge the term “natural born citizen” with the term “Citizen of the United States At Birth.” That later term is specifically codified in statute law and no act of Congress or court ruling has ever delineated between a “natural born citizen” and a “citizen of the United States at birth” since the ratification of the 14th Amendment.

With specific regard to Barack Obama, the Supreme Court has had nineteen opportunities to take up appeals of lower court rulings on whether he qualifies as a natural born citizen or not. The Supreme Court has chosen to allow lower court rulings to stand and no court has ever ruled that Obama’s one parent born in Kansas and one parent born in Kenya were not sufficient.
I see no reason why any court will rule differently for Senator Cruz with one parent born in Delaware and one parent born in Cuba.

Barry Goldwater could have become president if he had the electoral votes necessary and he was born in a territory, not a state of the Union.
John McCain could have become president and he was born in the Panama Canal Zone on land that was leased from Panama.
Mitt Romney could have become president and his father was born in Mexico.
Chester A. Arthur became President and his father was born in Ireland.

Really? You think this is some kind of game?

Every single democrat candidate is exactly what the founding fathers were worried about, they are the very thing that is wrong with this country, and they would have been horrified.

And YOU think it's a game......

Trust me, I'm taking notes on your Pharisaical ignorance as well, and so are others.
