Look who once again found a backbone around election time. You're right.
For 5+ years, the average senator can gaff off his constituents. Our framers would be screaming at the idiocy of six year popularly elected terms. Heck, the only reason our reps face voters every other year is that 18th century travel made annual elections too difficult.
