US Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday said that it would be "the height of irresponsibility" for Washington not to test Iran´s diplomatic overtures in regard to its nuclear program. In what could be construed as a reference to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu´s warnings to the world not to fall for the "charm offensive" of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Kerry stated that the US would not "succumb to fear tactics," of those who oppose diplomacy. Speaking at a Washington gala in support of nuclear disarmament, Kerry said that the US has "an opportunity to try to put to test

The US Government dishes out fear tactics on the economy, health care, race relations, etc. So of course we won’t succumb to them. We’re numb to them.

“Oppose diplomacy”? Oh, yeah. Diplomacy is an end in and of itself. We’ll have piece in our time, even if it kills us. Was that a fear tactic I just used?
