EBH, I’m not sure many folks would agree with that assessment of the GOP, at this point. It certainly looks to many like they are tacking more and more to the left, in a quest for votes (a fool’s game).
This is the time to be drawing stark contrasts, built out of fundamental differences between liberal and conservative POV. Instead, it looks like the GOP is morphing into dhimmicrap-lite.
There is a glimmer of hope with some of the younger, advancing leaders (Cruz, Rubio, Gohmert, etc.), but it’s still up in the air whether the GOP can be saved from itself, with the likes of Rove, McConnell, and others pulling the strings.
Call me an eternal optimist I guess. But, I see them as the new leaders of the GOP and after the recent fiasco of the shutdown, I think the polls asked the wrong questions and didn’t reflect reality.
