So who's going to pay for it all when there's nothing left on the plus side of the economy?

The next five year plan will take care of that.

“5 kids and no mention of “Dad”.”

No mention of her five “dads!” There, fixed it. As to her fatness, maybe she shouid resume breast feeding until she’s down to normal weight.

re: Just once - ONCE - I’d like to see one of these stupid reporters ask these hard luck food stamp recipients if their kids get free lunch at school. And then ask them about breakfast. And then report it. How many meals do this lady’s kids actually eat at home?

I was about to say the same thing. At most, the only time these foodstamp parents are responsible for feeding their children is at night and on weekends. (Although some locations also provide food on the weekends as well and in the summer months). A bowl of oatmeal or cereal for breakfast. A peanut butter sandwich for lunch. A dinner with rice or beans with some chicken and whatever vegetable is on sale. On $600 a month it is very doable. At some of the local schools in our area, parents can show up at meal time and eat for free as well.

“How is that supposed to work exactly?”

It can’t of course.

Look at the DDR aka East Germany.

It consumed the infrastructure of previous generations.
The roads wore out. People could not buy roofing tile and stood lines for whatever there was to buy. The communist state left massive pollution.

After everything was consumed and used up, it fell. Fortunately the West German Republic was there to pick up the pieces, and spend billions to help the people out of the grave.

And since 1990 they are still not over it — that is another story (I was in the former Ost last fall).

What did the ruling elites care? Think about it. They lived in fancy houses and ate caviar while the people ate rotten herring (one of the memories of the DDR is how it stank of the herring).

They had the ego thrill of complete control over everyone in every way. People lived their lives in a niche because they could not go outside and speak openly. The Stasi was everywhere. That was before modern NSA techniques by the way.

They knew they were better and smarter than anyone else. Results proved it — they lived in luxury.

Remind you of anyone? Someone posted the jewelry Sebelius or Pelosi wears. Don’t know why I can never tell them apart. HA! Obama does not live a humble Presidential life style. He flaunts it. Look at Al Gore with his huge houses and planes while the rest of us should drive Trabis. Same with the wealthy celebrities and benefactors.

They know what is good for us — it is necessary for us to be poor to they can loot everything for themselves. Priceless works of art to loot and collect.

It just does not matter to them. The ideology they hold whether they believe in it or not, is just rationalization for their grasp of power and wealth.

I wonder if the photographer is a closet conservative? I don’t think liberals “see” that stuff, so it slips past the editors too.

This isn’t the first story in which the article paints one picture and the photo/video contradicts it.

I have reached a really bad point. I am seriously considering avoiding all news, FR, etc.

The simple truth is that one of the down falls of Freedom is that you are free to starve to death if you can’t earn a living, and are so repugnant that no one will give you charity.

But we’re taxing our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to support people NOW who will NEVER repay what we are spending to support them. And it is pretty unlikely that that their children or grandchildren will make up the difference.

Feeding five kids is expensive, and the roughly $600 in food stamps she gets from the federal government never lasts the whole month.

Who forced her to have five kids?

I get it.

How would she react?

I don’t have a clue

Be nice if she wanted a job there would be job to get

Although every time I ever gave anyone a job cleaning they resented me

I don’t know what else you can do with no education

I'm just a hard ass I suppose because no where in the constitution can I find where I'm obligated to provide for anybody elses "needs".

I'm 100% with you on that. I can't recall a single instance where ony of the people I support came to me and asked if I was OK with supporting kids they planned to have. I'm sure I would have remembered.

I’ve come to the point where I know that there’s nothing I can do to stop this train heading for the cliff.

The only thing I can do is insulate my family from the effects of the crash to the best of my ability,
and that’s my focus.

My attitude now is “go ahead, crash it. I’m doing my best to keep it from affecting me as bad as those who support the crashers.”

Look directly behind the mom in the picture.

Is that one of those expensive movie theater popcorn machines?

Who has one of THOSE in their house!?

Some are lacking the skills for even that job.

My dad quit school at 16 to go work offshore to put food on his family’s table.

There are plenty of jobs in the oilfield that don’t require a HS diploma. A GED isn’t that hard to get either, if you try.

These are people that were on the dole during the Reagan years.

The big questions are, 1) what time do the riots start tomorrow, and 2) in what big Democrat city do they start first?

Lately I've found this particular bible story to be pretty apt:

Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. Here a dinner was given in Jesus’ honor. Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.” He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it."

-John 12:1-6

If you can’t feed them WITH YOUR OWN EARNED MONEY, then don’t breed them.

So, what does a family with five children pay for groceries each month? Any Freepers care to enlighten me?

How much in child support is this mother receiving?

the maximum payment for a family of four will shrink from $668 a month to $632

I've no idea why I read articles like this, as they only serve to raise my blood pressure. They make me feel like a total sucker.

$632/month is more than my total budget for household expenses - Food, as well as laundry detergent, TP, toothpaste, etc ec etc.

If I had $632/month just to spend on food alone, we'd eat steak a whole lot more often.
