Could Facebook Fix Healthcare.gov? [This is hilarious! What if Yahoo!, amazon, etc, made exchanges]

How about Google, Yahoo, Amazon, or Microsoft?

Given all the trouble with the Obamacare website, we wondered why America’s biggest Internet companies haven’t volunteered to help fix it. (OK, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer team did, sort of, in a recent Tweet, which they then deleted.) Surely Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Amazon, or Microsoft could design a more reliable site than the tangle of federal contractors who have bungled healthcare.gov. On the other hand, we can also envision a few drawbacks. Here’s how we imagine the site might look if each of those companies tried their hand at remaking it in their own images.

I'm all for ObamaCare becoming the social media thing.

People will use it for a year and then it will be scrapped as people move on to the hot new next big thing in healthcare and drop ObamaCare like a hot potato.

Let's turn ObamaCare into the MySpace of health care

This is a joke, but actually my ideal health care plan would be based upon a social network. The extent of government involvement would be to set up a health care account, like a 401k. That and maybe a per person small contribution into that account.

The rest of the system would depend on voluntary actions. The health care account would allow anyone to donate to it tax free. So your employer, yourself, your parents, church, any charitable organization, anyone, could put money into it for your healthcare expenses.

The only restrictions on the payment would be that it would have to be spent on health care.

Instead of a heavey handed, 19th century centralized system, it would create a self organizing 21st century system of social networks.

The Microsoft interface looks just like the hospital check-in system in "Idiocracy."

google, facebook, Amazon all take more hits per day than this out moded computer system that mooch’s friend put in.

Even my step daughter could design a better system, she is a computer geek and repairs them for a living from home to office, dentist, airline, lawyer’s, etc. Even repaired our local news anchor woman’s personal computer. Does servers too. And she always tries to keep the customer’s cost down, by using free software when it is safe to do so.

Oh wow! Thanks for pointing that out. Even though I’ve seen that movie, I hadn’t made the connection.

Mark Zuckerberg would be perfect. He’s a no privacy guy and so is the Obama administration it appears.
