He only has the guts to take a principled stand when it’s against his own country.

I agree with Kerry. In fact I would go further and say that Saudi Arabia is best left to Saudi Arabia and our foreign aid is best left to some other country who has a modicum of respect for women and children.
In other words stop giving money to a bunch of child molesters.

If a Republican said that, it would be another “War on Women” story.

I knew a US woman who drove in Saudi Arabia during the US preparation for operations in Desert Shield.
Some local Saudis thought it would be a good idea to follow her, and teach her that she is not permitted to drive by perpetrating an assault on her.
She was able to hold them at gunpoint until they were picked up by Saudi officials. They were executed the next morning.

John Kerry: When given an opportunity to Stand with Women (could this be called a WAR?), he goes AWOL.

Yeah, the only culture that we can be critical of is Christian-based Western Culture.

Is he advocating Shariah law here?: Does he mean that whether women should drive should be left up to the Saudis, or does he mean that whether women should drive in Saudi should be left up to the Saudis?
