On Monday, Secretary of State John Kerry met with Saudi King Abdullah to try and warm relations between the two countries. A true relationship between friends is based on sincerity, candor and frankness, said Prince Saudi al-Faisal, the Saudi foreign minister, after the meeting

American culture is based on Christian principles, which the left opposes.
I used to say that “liberalism” was based on no foundation whatsoever,
but it actually is based on the same Christian principles as our ideology is based - but in opposition to them.
So is the State Department still sponsoring Gay Pride parties in Muslim countries?
But, they are the Saudi’s, our energy masters. They have so much money and have invested so heavily in the western economy, that they have say in what we can say politically.
Yes, I understand why Obama bowed to the Saudi royal family.
I also understand what Kerry is really saying. (/sarcasm)
Well then... The question of Women be stoned for having been raped should also be left to Saudi Arabia (to Islam)? The question of women's rights are "Best left to Saudi Arabia"? How about Human Rights in general? Is discrimination considered anti-human rights by Kerry's standards?
What is America's position on Human Rights exactly? Are we finely admitting that this administration has different standards for different individuals based on national origins, race, sex, creed, religion and political affiliations/opinions? When can we start calling Obama a racist hypocrite without being labelled ourselves?
So Kerry had a meeting with the Saudi foreign minister.I hope he remembered to wipe his chin before the news conference.
The question of Apartheid is best left to South Africa. Right, Sen Kerry? Sen Kerry? Hellloooo....
I suppose Kerry also supports the Saudis executing people for witchcraft or for converting from Islam to Christianity, child marriage and female genital mutilation.
I agree 100 fold. Let’s start minding our own business and keep our money.
To be fair, he is also perfectly willing to tell Israelis where and how to live.... although the principles he bases that stand on aren't yours and mine.
I doubt if we know the same woman. But the story sounds familiar (except for the part about the executions). For the soldier I know, she did stop the assault and held off the men at gun point until Saudi officials intervened. She was with another male soldier under her command who was NOT driving. She was also reprimanded by her superiors for driving off base (or even sitting in the front seat). If I remember correctly, there were certain areas where they were to follow local customs once they were off base.
Then I suppose that treatment of gays is best left up to Russia and Iran?................
While true, driving enables escape and association. It will help empower them.
Kerry is performing up to the level of his Saudi bribe, they are getting their moneys worth.
It’s not clear that Democrats ever believed “all men are created equal.” Back in the good old days of slavery, the Democrats said that refers to White Anglo-Saxon Protestants. Then, during the Progressive era, they distinguished the advanced races from the primitive. Now, they have simply reverted to form. For a brief interlude, they passed through the place of believing in universal truths, such as are expressed in our Declaration of Independence and in the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and are now back to their origins of believing that rights are a function of social evolution.
Yet these blowhards are going to force us to sign CRPD.
Filthy wahabbists.
And Kerry commented later that “Saudi women are notoriously bad drivers.”
