This was a particularly nasty home invasion of an apparently innocent family.

The death sentence is too harsh. All should receive short life sentences, no more than 30 days. Then they should be publicly released.
This robbery happened across the street from my friend’s house. This is a very nice established neighborhood in Indy. My friend leans pretty far to the left (his wife is a lunatic fringe leftist).
He bought a Glock 9mm yesterday evening.
There was a similar incident that happened very near there a week before and there were a couple of forced entries not too far from there.

I have been looking at new security alarm technology. The Tattletale is interesting but not well known yet in residential use.
One of the things you definitely need to do is reinforce your door. They are so easy to break.
I have been thinking about jumping out a window if a group break into my house. Still working on a strategy should a bunch of thugs break into my house.

Frankly, a better strategy would be to have a tactical shotgun handy. One shot could incapacitate several of the feral humans if it was in a relatively confined space.
I live in a small town about 25 miles from Indy. The feral humans haven’t made it down here....yet.
I have heard of break ins out in the county north of us (near Marion County/Indy).
Recently, a FReeper suggested using (I believe) 2” - 3” screws in all door frames. Wouldn’t prevent a complete kick-in, but would hold them up for a few minutes while you grab your gun.

My assumption was that the victims were the same race as the perpetrators. Is that likely from what you know?
