It was the Tea Party that changed the nominating process in 2012 from a primary to a convention so that it had a better chance of running one of its own. The TP got what it wanted, and their nominee both energized the Democrats and turned off many moderates and independents, especially among women. Like it or not, we need the votes of moderates and independents to win state-wide elections in Virginia and other “swing” states.

Jimeny. We need to go along to get along, right? No wonder there is a civil war in the worthless GOP. Why don’t they just rename themselves “democrat light “. It better suits them. They are losers to the end and will continue to destroy themselves and the nation in their quest to win elections they will lose. Loser lose and the GOP are losers indeed. They worked hard to be losers and they deserve it.

I love it when people babble on with talking points they've picked up somewhere that have no connection with reality. Cuccinelli WON the independents by 7+ points. Perhaps I need to say it again louder? CUCCINELLI WON THE INDEPENDENTS BY ALMOST DOUBLE-DIGITS !!!!!

So your "we need the moderates" crap is just that. We won married women but lost single women (just like every election), and lost because of low base turnout (due to low resources and political missteps by the Cuccinelli campaign early on) and a 3rd-party spoiler funded by Democrats. Actually look at the numbers before you speak, please...

The tea party was persona-non-grata at the convention in 2012 other than a few head pats and useless platitudes. The Party boys were quite busy changing the rules to ensure the tea party never see the light of day in the Republican party.

News flash, the tea party is your base Republicans and you keep using and abusing them and now that they dare call you on it your first response go for the tried and true promise to do better and be more considerate of conservatives,(where have we heard that before), when those lies are called on this time around that conciliatory repose by the Republican party turns to anger and rage.

The Republican-E and Party boys have no principles that they are not willing to sell out for a win, because the conservative base is not as corrupt and duplicitous as they are and will not take the 30 pieces of silver it further infuriates the GOPe and the Party pukes.

Try and win without the conservatives Republicans. You got a preview in 2012 when part of your base sat that one out because of yet another moderate, independent loving piece of stand for nothing milquetoast. Cram Krispey Kreme down the parties throat in 16 and you will be lucky to pull 10 states into the red column.

Romney won the moderates by huge margins how did that work out for us? And since when did independents become a different voting block than moderates??? Sounds suspiciously like another reason for the GOPe liberals to equivocate and sell out even further for votes.

All I am hearing from you is become liberal lite like the democrats and will win. If I want to vote liberal I will vote for the real thing, not the cheap a$$ version the Republican party keeps trotting out screaming: me too, me too, but just a few dollars cheaper!!!
