I recall the hole in the ozone layer was going to kill the planet in the 1970s. Hairspray and spray-on deoderant were the major culprits. Remember those 70s hair styles? The Afros?

It is a wonder we survived. I think the reason was haircuts as we entered the 1980s.

Damn interesting thread posted on this forum back in 2007. Please pay particular attention to my posts #4 and #11. When the global warming hawkers start advocating a relatively inexpensive and quick solution like flooding the Qatarra Depression, I'll begin to take them seriously.

Until then, the are just watermelon Marxists promoting the latest control scheme.

FWIW, I think flooding the Qatarra would be a sensible stand alone project with or without global warming. It would be a giant step forward in turning back desertification on that part of the planet
