f the HealthCare.gov site cannot be fixed by the end of November, Leon Panetta said President Obama "may very well have to accept some changes in order to make sure that we can continue to implement it."
Panetta, a former Congressman and top aide to President Clinton, ran both the Central Intelligence Agency and Defense Department during Mr. Obama's administration. He said that even though speedy repairs will be tough, the administration doesn't need to take down the federal website where consumers can shop for and purchase health insurance, but that they should be able to fix the system while it is live - and should have fixed it before the launch.
"You cannot rely on the bureaucracies to do this kind of work. They're good people, they're dedicated, but very frankly, they're not the ones that really have the capability to in fact get this done," Panetta said. "I would drive this out of the White House. I would have an ongoing task force, I'd have one person in charge of it, and I would meet every day to make sure that they're getting this straight, because I think the president's trust on this program is really going to be dependent on his ability to fix it."

I doubt the cost will be pushed off on the buyers of Obamacare.
Mostly it will be pushed off on taxpayers, and the national debt.
Those signing on to Obamacare are going to be the dregs who clamored for it. They CAN’T pay, never could.
And the 40 million claimed to be without insurance, will grow to 50 million plus.
“It’s settled law”
Panetta is a classic Democrat who STILL simply doesn’t understand what’ happened. He still operating under the assumption that the “old rules” still apply.
Just the start of the Left trying to pre-spin the fact that their stupid web-site still won’t be working on Nov 30.
We have to get out the message that the healthcare.gov website is already by far the most beneficial and most smoothly running aspect of the Affordable Health Care Act.
Stuck inside of DC with the healthcare blues again.
The one will exact revenge on his enemies prior to accepting anything in principal, the renig.
Teef!
The only change should be outright repeal and an agreement that he will work with the Republicans in the House to install market based forces to fix the health care system.
Sorry, Leon, you can’t polish a turd.
I just hope the GOP elite won’t cave on fixing ObamaCare enough to let it limp forward without repealing the atrocities in the law. If they can’t get rid of the individual mandate, the abortion mandate, and most of the other major flaws, it’s better to let it bleed to death quickly than to let it die a lingering death and take our country with it. The GOP needs to stand firm on gutting the excesses from ObamaCare or no changes at all.
I am not now nor ever have been a Computer engineer or soft ware writer, but I know that there are many in the IT field that are FReepers. Please, tell me: Is there ANY chance that a system like healthcare.gov could ever be fixed I such a short period of time. Particularly since it took over three years and half a billion dollars to screw it up?
Why is this ALWAYS a given from the Left, that virtue & the best intentions reside with Government and private initiative is primarily motivated by evil? Until this narrative is somehow broken, we'll never reverse course.
The site not working is like the gallows not working. It’s not something you want to get “fixed” too quickly if you’re scheduled to be on the receiving end of it.
I like it.
