The store is called Daka and is akin to Best Buy or (when they were around) Circuit City; large store of home electronics and appliances. The new Pres (Maduro) accused the store of price gouging, arrested the store managers and had government officials (backed by the National Guard uniformed armed troops; similar to our Dept. of Homeland Sec.) re-price and sell all stock at “fair” prices. Problem was that a few local folk did not wait for the government to show up and do as Maduro announced and took the initiative much like the “yutes” in inner cities. The flash like mobs broke into stores and took merchandize without paying.

“The store is called Daka and is akin to Best Buy”

The article I read said there were only “five” stores in the whole country. There are five Best Buy stores in any decent size larger city in the US. The Obama voters here are probably cheering this move by the socialists but have no idea what this means. Venezuela has a population of about 30 million. Take that number and lay it on the US and you will have about 55 stores across the whole country.
