Barack Obama has seen his signature health care law passed, which has been a dismal failure, though one could rightly argue that failure was his intent all along. He has seen gun prohibition laws vanquished in light of an uprising of American patriots. Now, it appears that Obama is set to define his second term in office as one of pushing a hoax of climate change legacy.
The Hill reports:
But there’s one thing that’s going right for Obama: Executive action on climate change is moving full-speed ahead at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
“He may be able to do more through climate change [rules] because the EPA has the authority,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) told The Hill on Thursday.
The most far-reaching piece of Obama’s climate plan is carbon emission standards for the nation’s fleet of existing power plants, by far the largest single source of industrial carbon emissions. The EPA is also writing standards for new plants.
“I think climate change, immigration reform are both sort of legacy issues,” Blumenthal said. “The measure of his presidency will be whether he has left changes in law and regulation, but also a heightened awareness, which I think he has been doing.”
Princeton University professor Julian Zelizer said the push on climate change through executive action could shape Obama’s legacy — but only to a point.
“There are limits to what it will mean to his presidency,” said Zelizer, who teaches history and public affairs.
Well now, we know that Barack Obama is not one to be held to limits, at least limits that he cannot bully his way around.
Obama has declared war on the coal industry, but that didn’t happen recently. It happened before he even took office, and that war is not just on coal, but the American people who will feel the brunt of that war in the rise of their energy costs.
Recently, Obama was blasted by scientists for crafting his policy based on faulty computer models rather than actual science. He has also used executive orders to advance new regulations to finish off the coal industry, which he hates with a passion.
Near the end of October, Obama’s EPA forced the shutdown of a 60 year old coal plant in Utah.
However, the regulations of Obama’s EPA are not without challenges and of course these will go into the next president’s term.
Jeff Holmstead, a partner at Bracewell & Giuliani who was the top air pollution regulator at the EPA under President George W. Bush, said, “Even if EPA is able to stay on schedule and sign the final … rule by June of 2015, it is very unlikely that litigation over the rule will be resolved before the President leaves office.”
According to Holmstead, there would be “years of litigation” on existing power plant rules, involving “possibly as many as 50 different lawsuits in every U.S. Circuit Court in the country.”
According to Mr. Zelizer, “[Administrative actions] don’t have the same kind of impact in defining a president as big legislative accomplishments and they are more susceptible to being overturned. The next president can change them. That’s always the problem.”
Personally, there is only one thing that defines this president. The term is commonly known as liar. He can also be defined as a radical, a socialist, and he most definitely sympathizes with Muslims. Some wonder why he can be attributed with all of these qualities and even communism. I’ll tell you, it’s because that is how his ideology has been shaped. Though this man claims in vain to be a Christian, nothing of Christianity has shaped Barack Hussein Obama, not one thing.
The reality is that climate change has been debunked. It is a hoax, a fraud, a mirage. Yet, Obama and others like him continue to promote it as truth. They live in a fairly tale. What gives me some hope is that they have not sold the climate change bill of goods to the American people at large.
According to a Pew Research Center poll, conducted in the middle of October, only 44% of US adults believe that “global warming” is caused by human activity.
This has nothing to do with an actual threat to the environment but has everything to do with advancing a legacy and agenda, nothing more.
Pamela Geller has rightly written of Obama’s power grab, “Obama’s power-lust, like all power-lust, is a weed that grows only in the vacant lot of an abandoned mind (paraphrasing Ayn Rand here).”
Obama dedicated a significant portion of his inaugural address to pushing fabricated climate control initiatives. In reality, Obama is merely pushing a non-existent issue to advance communist ideology here in America.
This illegal asshat, tinhorn phony's legacy should be that he was the FIRST to be prosecuted and found guilty of TREASON, and the full measure CARRIED OUT!
No pension no nothing! He is disgraced due to his deliberate destruction of America! Is everyone just perfectly OK with him destroying our country and us right along with it? Seriously???
I can happily and easly define his legacy while he rots in prison for treason.

Is there any way that Congress can rein in the power of the Executive Order? And yes, I realize that it would affect each succeeding President. But I seriously don’t expect us to ever win again unless we can stop the various ways of voting fraud that the Democrats have perfected over the last 10 years.

This is confusing. The story is supposed to be about executive orders and what he is going to do. Regulations are written by agencies pursuant to enacted statutory authority language. The President can’t set an emissions limit via Executive Order, for either new or old plants - it wouldn’t have the force of law. So what exactly is up his Executive Order sleeve ? There’s been headlines everywhere about this end-run, but where is it? What is it?
Impeach the evil one.

The Constitution was devised with an ingenious and intricate built-in system of checks and balances to guard the people's liberty against combinations of government power.
It structured the Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary separate and wholly independent as to function, but coordinated for proper operation, with safeguards to prevent usurpations of power. Only by balancing each against the other two could freedom be preserved, said John Adams.
Another writer of the day summarized clearly the reasons for such checks and balances:
• "If the LEGISLATIVE and JUDICIAL powers are united, the MAKER of the law will also INTERPRET it (constitutionality).
• Should the EXECUTIVE and LEGISLATIVE powers be united... the EXECUTIVE power would make itself absolu te, and the government end in tyranny.
• Should the EXECUTIVE and JUDICIAL powers be united, the subject (citizen) would then have no permanent security of his person or property.

What were some of these checks and balances believed so important to individual liberty? Several are listed below:
• HOUSE (peoples representatives) is a check on SENATE - no statute becomes law without its approval.
• SENATE is a check on HOUSE - no statute becomes law without its approval. (Prior to 17th Amendment, SENATE was appointed by State legislatures as a protection for states' rights - another check the Founders provided.)
• EXECUTIVE (President) can restrain both HOUSE and SENATE by using Veto Power.
• LEGISLATIVE (Congress - Senate & House) has a check on EXECUTIVE by being able to pass, with 2/3 majority, a bill over President's veto.
• LEGISLATIVE has further check on EXECUTIVE through power of discrimination in appropriation of funds for operation of EXECUTIVE.
• EXECUTIVE (President) must have approval of SENATE in filling important posts in EXECUTIVE BRANCH.
• EXECUTIVE (President) must have approval of SENATE before treaties with foreign nations can be effective.
• LEGISLATIVE (Congress) can conduct investigations of EXECUTIVE to see if funds are properly expended and laws enforced.
• EXECUTIVE has further check on members of LEGISLATIVE (Congress) in using discretionary powers in decisions regarding establishment of military bases, building & improvement of navigable rivers, dams, interstate highways, etc., in districts of those members.
• JUDICIARY is check on LEGISLATIVE through its authority to review all laws and determine their constitutionality.
• LEGISLATIVE (Congress) has restraining power over JUDICIARY, with constitutional authority to restrict extent of its jurisdiction.
• LEGISLATIVE has power to impeach members of JUDICIARY guilty of treason, high crimes, or misdemeanors.
• EXECUTIVE (President) is check on JUDICIARY by having power to nominate new judges.
• LEGISLATIVE (Senate) is check on EXECUTIVE and JUDICIARY having power to approve/disapprove nominations of judges.
• LEGISLATIVE is check on JUDICIARY - having control of appropriations for operation of federal court system.
• LEGISLATIVE (Peoples Representatives) is check on both EXECUTIVE and JUDICIARY through power to initiate amendments to Constitution subject to approval by 3/4 of the States.
• LEGISLATIVE (Senate) has power to impeach EXECUTIVE (President) with concurrence of 2/3, of members.
• The PEOPLE, through their State representatives, may restrain the power of the federal LEGISLATURE if 3/4 of the States do not ratify proposed Constitutional Amendments.
• LEGISLATIVE, by Joint Resolution, can terminate certain powers granted to EXECUTIVE (President) (such as war powers) without his consent.
• It is the PEOPLE who have final check on both LEGISLATIVE and EXECUTIVE when they vote on their Representatives every 2 years, their Senators every 6 years, and their President every 4 years. Through those selections, they also influence the potential makeup of the JUDICIARY.
It is up to each generation to see that the integrity of the Constitutional structure for a free society is maintained by carefully preserving the system of checks and balances essential to limited and balanced government. "To preserve them (is) as necessary as to institute them," said George Washington.

Mike Adams wrote an interesting article about extortion and how politicians use the threat of passing a particular law to extort contributions, promises, favors, etc. from others. Perhaps this has something to do with what Obama is up to. The threat of possible executive orders concerning environmental issues could be very lucrative in many ways.

Unelected bureaucrats writing law is one of the primary features of a dictatorship. Congress illegally gave its law-making power to bureaucrats back in the 1920s, and the Marxist courts illegally approved it. That’s what we’re facing. Nearly all federal bureaucracies are illegal and engaged in sedition.

Good article on wtop.com right now ( sorry, have issues copying and pasting links from my smartphone) about how ethanol has been an environmental disaster. And lays the blame squarely at the feet of Obama. As a bonus it even mentions how wind turbines like to cuisinart bald eagles ...
Doesn’t matter what he does OBAMACARE is his legacy, PERIOD.
Nothing else he does, will ever amount to a hill of beans, his legacy is like him a joke and a failure. An affirmative action president completely in over his head.
