This isn’t news. Marcus Luttrell, Chris Kyle and others have written about this ad nauseum in their books. It was the media and the ROE that cause Luttrell and his brothers to compromise their mission to begin with.
ROE, vilification by the Media, and political correctness are the reason why Lone Survivor was written by Marcus Luttrell and why his book is now a movie.
Publishers won’t talk to you except through an agent.
Agents turn down most everybody.
Self-publishing is the only way to go for a lot of people with a story to tell.

Good question. Here's my story ...
Eric Blehm wrote an absolutely incredible book called "Fearless" about SEAL Team SIX member Adam Brown.

Adam Brown was killed in a firefight in 2010. Among the Team SIX members that were with him that day was a FReeper who posted 7000 posts from 2004 through July 2011. He is featured in (and was interviewed for) the book Eric Blehm wrote.
That FReeper was killed in the crash of Extortion 17 in August 2011.
I have emailed Eric Blehm twice asking him to write a book about this hero.
Eric Blehm will not return my emails.

It is a short read. Not for the sight challenged, as it is script written, I’ve had to use a magnifier to read it. But so far it is a good read.
