Big Y is saying Butterball had a mistake in the production
(I shouldn’t have written miscalculation in the comment)
if this is true that is a lot of birds.

Most people buy 16+lbs for Thanksgiving -barely anyone buys the smaller birds in comparison to the larger ones for this holiday.

Something screwed up pretty bad to have 50% of the volume slashed for the whole country, and being told today - so close to Thanksgiving - is very sort notice.

I’m still not seeing this story anywhere else so who knows...

The shortage is for fresh turkeys only. Most people I know buy frozen. I had no idea that Butterball sold anything fresh until now.
