Why would you worry about that? It isn't the police's job to protect anybody. The responsibility is yours, and your alone. The responsibility for your protection has always been yours.
The police don't have to do anything to protect you. Nor should they.
SCOTUS has routinely upheld this.
Sometimes vigilante actions are very effective when "the law" refuses to act.
Some years ago, I remember reading an article in a British motorcycle magazine about an epidemic of stolen motorcycles, and the police simply didn't even bother investigating the thefts. Insurance rates were skyrocketing. So a writer "rode along" with a bunch of guys who would leave a motorcycle parked near the van they were waiting in. They'd wait until some "UTES" would begin stealing the motorcycle, jump out of the van, and beat the thieves to within an inch of their lives.
It was remarkable how quickly the motorcycle thefts in those areas dropped.

Hey, I’ve seen episodes of “Amish Mafia!”

Liberals believe they can protect the antelope from the lion by removing the antelope's horns!

“I also am worried about the police apparently doing nothing to protect good people.”
This happened in the LA riots, and in Crown Heights; as a result, many of the remaining whites in NYC fled to upstate NY and NJ. With DeBlasio in office, we here in NJ are hoping for more of the same; it really boosted some areas along the river.
They are not the dogs, they aren't as smart as a dog.
They don't seem to be taking orders from anyone . Except maybe from Satan, their own violent stupidity, or perhaps a couple of mentally challenged demons.
I'm voting for either their own stupidity or slow demons.
The only thing in Animal Farm that I can think of to compare them to is unnamed and unmentioned in the book, yet I know that it must be there. The thing from Animal Farm most closely aligned with these fools is Napoleon’s fecal matter.

Obamacare
In Animal Farm, the most important of the Seven Commandments of Animalism was the All Animals Are Equal Commandment. Upon this, Animalism was supposed to thrive.
Later, Napoleon gains power, drives out Snowball, moves into Mr. Jones white house, sells Boxer to the glue factory, and enjoys whiskey while the animals work. Animalism is struggling to survive and suddenly, the maxim is changed. It becomes:
All Animals are Equal, But Some are More Equal Than Others
In a strikingly similar way during this new age of Obamacare, we were repeatedly told that if you like your plan, you can keep it
Now, today we get the Animal Farm version:
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Now, if you have or had one of these plans before the Affordable Care Act came into law and you really liked that plan, what we said was you can keep it if it hasnt changed since the law passed. So we wrote into the Affordable Care Act, youre grandfathered in on that plan. But if the insurance company changes it, then what were saying is theyve got to change it to a higher standard. Theyve got to make it better, theyve got to improve the quality of the plan they are selling. Thats part of the promise that we made too. Thats why we went out of our way to make sure that the law allowed for grandfathering.
I guess Obama expects that we wont remember what he said. After all, he is our leader of Obamacarism. He has nothing to really apologize for. The Obamapology blames everyone else.
Surely it is the fault of the bad apple insurers who had such terrible plans to offer to begin with. Surely it is our fault because we couldnt possibly have known any better or even really truly liked the plans we had picked.
Now, all insurance plans are equal. But some are more equal than others. (And those that arent equal will be canceled).

They are out there to extract “revenge” on the kulaks and bourgeoisie and to just generally stir up a sense of unease and chaos.
Yes, I’m saying the left condones and encourages this behavior.
