Why Youth Is Revolting Against Obama (Hint: It’s Not Just Obamacare)
The Daily Beast ^ | November 20, 2013 | Nick Gillespie

Posted on 11/20/2013 6:09:52 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

In 2008, he seemed like the coolest cat to hit the national scene in a long time, almost scientifically engineered to appeal to idealistic young Americans. How times have changed.

It’s like totally official, now, bro: Even the young Americans who were central to Barack Obama’s election in 2008 and 2012 are sick of the president, with a large and growing majority disapproving of the job he’s doing. In this, they’re just like their elders.

A new Quinnipiac Poll finds that only 36 percent of voters between the ages of 18 and 29 approve of the job the president is doing while fully 54 percent of the kids give him the thumbs down (10 percent didn’t know or care enough to respond to the topic). Back in March 2009, 62 percent of 18 to 29 years approved, compared to just 20 percent disapproving.

Millennials may be young, but they’re not stupid. As bad as Obama’s time in office has been for older Americans, nobody has taken it on the chin quite as bad as kids under 30, who are more likely to be unemployed, broke, and facing decades of sub-par wages if and when they do finally get a job.

Observers sympathetic to the president and a progressive Democratic agenda chalk the sharp decline up to the clusterfucked rollout of Obamacare. “Because they came of age watching a Republican president fail massively in Iraq, Hurricane Katrina, and the financial crisis, Millennials are predisposed to favor Democrats,” writes Peter Beinart, coming up with arguably the most inventive new variation on the old “blame Bush” meme. Beinart notes that even as Millennials are less trusting of government than Gen Xers and baby boomers had been in their 20s....

Rebelling at the Life of Julia?

I find it difficult to believe, but I welcome it!

"Life of Julia?"

It's interesting that Julia is predominately investigated in 1984.

So what if they don’t? These Hitlerjugend voted for Obama and now they deserve to suffer. Even if Obama is unpopular, it doesn’t really matter. I don’t think Obama is going to be impeached and if he is impeached he won’t be convicted. The retarded populous voted for this idiot (twice) and now they’re complaining that the country is turning out the way many of us have warned since way back in 2008? I wonder if even the total disaster that is “the Messiah will jolt people into thinking correct principles?

Now that the Kenyan Lyin’ Chief can’t be reelected, they are deserting the Kenyan and rapidly moving towards Slick Willie’s wife. You just can’t fix stupid. They’re ready to “make history” again.

Millennials may be young, but they’re not stupid.

Debatable. They helped elect him.

“Millennials may be young, but they’re not stupid.”

Well, this is inaccurate.

Debatable. They helped elect him.

The young and ignorant can learn from their mistakes. The stupid can't. It remains to be seen which camp the generation behind me is predisposed to. Mine is useless.

Saw a patient today. 25 year-old white male. Graduated college with a degree in economics. Works as a welder, and not by choice, as he stated “there are no jobs for guys like me.” Not sure if he is an Obamabot, but I was impressed with his willingness to do manual labor to pay the bills. Maybe there is hope.

I’m not sure how deep this discontent is, but what I do know — and this came up in a long conversation this evening with a professional associate in her early 20s who recently graduated from college — is that the 20-30 age group is filled with a lot of college graduates who are unemployed and whose employment prospects aren’t going to be any better even after eight years of Obama.

Good for him. He’ll probably do better as a welder than he would as an economist anyway. A welder with a background in economics may be a great combination.

If you can send me his resume, I bet I could find him something more in line with his degree.

“Millennials may be young, but they’re not stupid.”

Yea, this is the most retarded statement in this whole article. “Millennials” deserve everything that is coming their way. And to quantify my previous proclamation, I have 4 retarded MF’s spawn ranging from 23 years old to 36 years old. They will get to reap the benefits of their votes.
