Having shot many dozens of melons, pumpkins, soda bottles, aerosol cans, etc, with rifle rounds, all I can say from my personal experience is that there is no way to tell, in any individual shot/impact, where the shot came from just from the motive reaction of the target.

If anyone says they can tell, just from the reaction of Kennedy's head, where the shot came from, they must have some kind of special knowledge my 30 years of personal experience hasn't revealed.

It's the other way around. You see him pull backwards and ASSUME it must be from a shot. But it doesn't have to be, and isn't consistent with that. A shot to the head would move the head. Instead his whole upper body pulls back.

There is however a small sudden *forward* movement to the head at the instant of the head shot.
