The photo on post 130 shows the photo of the Newman family that was interviewed on the link I posted. She says how after the shots were fired and she saw the President’s blood she fell on top of her baby.
The husband said the first shot was when the President was “startled” and jumped up in his seat (the neck shot). The head shot happened right in front of him.
It happened rather more closely directly in front of Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Connelly, and in full view of a loyal Secret Service agent. Eyewitnesses are important in immediacy to the event, memories not so much.
