A television news report sheds doubt on a gay New Jersey restaurant servers claim that a customer denied her a tip because of her lifestyle by producing a receipt that indicates otherwise.
NBC 4 out of New York reports that it has an original receipt and credit card statement produced by family members who ate at the restaurant that night and insist they did leave a tip and did not scrawl on their receipt: Im sorry but I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle.
The story gained national attention after Dayna Morales, a former Marine and employee at Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater, Somerset County, N.J., sent an image of a receipt with the writing to the organization Have A Gay Day, which posted it on the group's Facebook page.
"Tips" then poured in from across the country, and Morales told CNN that she received more than $2,000.

The family members said they are not anti-gay, and, in fact, voted against Chris Christie for his stand on same-sex marriage.
The husband and wife, who asked to remain anonymous, have a receipt printed at the same minute, on the same date, for the same $93.55 total - but with an $18 tip. The couple also produced a Visa bill confirming they were charged a total of $111.55 by the restaurant and believe their original receipt was doctored.
Said the wife: We would never leave a note like that."
The woman told the television station the check had been "doctored up" and the couple was tolerant.
"I think there's enough hate and intolerance in the world that to create it when it wasn't there is shameful and dishonorable," she said.
Morales, however, is sticking to her story.
The server told NBC 4 that she didn't forge the hateful note.
"That's not my handwriting," she said. "I don't know."
Morales has said she was stunned by the incident.
In her message to Have A Gay Day, which the organization posted on Facebook, Morales said: "NEVER in a million years did I think this would happen."
The restaurant says it is looking into the incident.
Shortly after the image of the receipt surfaced, general manager Byron Lapola wrote a message of support for Morales on Gallop Asian Bistro's Facebook page, according to news reports.
That post was no longer visible on the page this morning.
How did this couple KNOW this woman was a lesbian? Did she tell them? Did Ms. Morales assume they would make that determination from her looks? What? What?
What was it that tipped off the couple who allegedly did this?
Without even bothering to read a word of the story, I'll guess "Yes.".
hasn’t the answer been obvious from the beginning?
Its a trend, people lie on job resumes, lie about graduating college, lie about military service, lie about so called hate crimes. People have no shame, no values, no morals. And by the way they seem to let their kids scream and cry and stand up and destroy my quiet meals at every restaurant I visit these days. When I was a kid 1950-60s what other people thought about us was very important to the family.
There is a post from this freak on a facebook page dedicated to this incident. The first post is from the freak and I will let her words speak for themselves:
Dayna Morales Thanks everyone for your support - it took very fiber of my being not to spit in their food and say something. (Not gonna lie if kids weren’t there it would of been a totally different story)
I think she printed a duplicate receipt, ran the tip through, tossed the original copy and then doctored the duplicate. That is why the tip matched the couple’s receipt and their statement and why the merchant copy is blank. She needs to go to jail, be stripped of any military title and benefits and sued into oblivion.
Furthermore, I will bet the couple’s fingerprints are not on the faked hoax receipt.
Incidentally, if a server ever made any pronouncements to me that had any sexual connotations to them that had to do with his/her lifestyle, you could be sure that the individual would get no tip
. and I definitely would tell the manager that I wouldnt be back.
So how would you address the exact time/date stamp as the one the couple produced? The couple said they recognized it as theirs.
Your post brings something to mind - the perp wanted the tip AND the grievance.
If she was smart, she’d not have run the tip through on the credit card.
The credit card company recorded the full amount, giving evidence against her claim.
I work with a 32 year old guy who lies habitually. He came of age during the Clinton years. In their world it is OK to lie because they think they are getting away with it. It really pisses me off because I know he is lying and he thinks I am dumb enough to believe his obvious B.S.
Spit in their food? What an awful thing to say. Even if her accusations are true, (and it really looks like they aren’t,) I have zero sympathy for her. What’s more, she ought to be fired for even suggesting that she might spit in someone’s food. Who’s going to want to eat at that restaurant now? I’d be worried that I’d get her for my server and she wouldn’t like my looks or something and would spit in my food.
If the tip was included on the couple’s credit card statement, it’s clear the lezbo’s receipt was a fake.
Left-handed-right handed. Did you remember how Sidney Potier discovered the murder suspect was innocent? Used a brokeback trick-very smart.
Spit in their food? She had the nads to post that online?
Lesbo just lost her job, because any restaurant (that MIGHT BE HELD LIABLE!!!) would be crazy to even let her in the door now!
“How would the customers ever know that piece of info?”
Have you seen “her” picture? If you had, it would erase all doubts in your mind about her sexual orientation. Extremely butch!
Spit in their food? Isn’t the tip left after the meal is complete?
The surprising thing about this story is that a New York NBC affiliate would report anything that runs counter to the gay agenda. Some jobs may be in jeopardy there.
either the waitress did it, or the fellow employee, perhaps manager who brought it to her attention did.
Spit in their food?
+++++++
The reason I do not eat out....
Since the bill was paid, and the purported offensive note written, after the people had eaten, it would have been pointless to spit in their empty plates. One more indication of this being a fraud.
