They are if it’s against infidels. Where they part ways is WHICH will head/control the caliphate and the islamic world.
In 1945, we had the fear and respect of the world. Those who didn’t like and respect us, feared us. Since that time, look at the endless parade of unfinished conflicts.

Afghanistan
In almost every one of these, we defined the conflict in such a way that we couldn’t end it with finality.
And heaven help you if you suggest a final solution in public, even though it would save MILLIONS of lives in the long run. Easy example: had we bulldozed Iraq of any possible resistance the first time around and actually turned it into the 51st state of OilBountia, it would arguably have led to less ‘civilian’ deaths than letting that monster Saddam run the place even if we were far harsher than necessary.
Honestly I’m just through with this notion, internationally and in our own culture. *cough*equalityfantasies*cough* Let the usual suspects insult us and sneer at the evil impressionist white westerners...in whispers in their basements, praying our intel network doesn’t catch them and determine they are worth thousand pounds of high-energy “shut up”. Because now they do it openly in the streets. What did we gain for our leniency?

German muslim convert in jihad propaganda video
Al Qaeda-associated "Da'ash" organization has released a video in which a young German who converted to Islam 4 years ago urges German Muslims to join the jihad in Syria and establish an Islamic Caliphate system to rule the world.
The convert is one of thousands of foreign jihadists coming to Syria to join the rebels fighting President Bashar Assad's regime. Just recently a German convert to Islam and former player on the German national soccer team was killed after he joined the fighting in Syria.
My policy?
We never commit any combat troops until Congress approves. Once they approve, we prosecute war as strongly and violently as possible to END THE THREAT TO THE UNITED STATES as quickly as possible. Then withdraw all the troops as quickly as possible.
