Yup. If you stand between the last two pilars on Lincoln’s right side in the Lincoln Memorial in DC it sure looks like the profile of a bearded man (rumored to be Lee) is carved into his hairline.

The phenomenon is called pareidolia.
I saw a show on that. Early humans see a face it might be a lion, tiger, etc. and they RUN. Survival mechanism. Of course you get laughed at once-in-awhile back at the cave when it was just a tree trunk or shadows on a rock. BUT - better safe than sorry.
