Even more painful & disfiguring is the increasingly common malady, brought on by excessive use of cell phone, bluetooth and the like:

That's from wrestling/MMA where heads rub and hit the ears causing damage to the blood supply to the cartilage. The hematoma needs to be drained or scar tissue will build up. There are videos on YouTube of people doing it themselves.

The guy in that pic is Randy Couture from the UFC. He said it doesn't hurt just looks bad.
