Yeah, 38 years does seem awfully long. I don’t know exactly how these legal maneuverings work, but I am betting she does not serve more than 2 years.

I'm confused by the huge disparity in sentences for what are basically the same offenses. OTOH..a long sentence like this just might have the effect of keeping others from offending in the future.
As one who believes in redemption, I think that these teachers should be given the opportunity for a second chance while in prison...let them teach GED classes, and maybe they can earn some time off their sentences based upon how many they successfully get to complete the program.
