Cops aren't cops.
There certainly is the likelihood that Red State Troopers, and Red County Sheriff's Deputies are a whole different breed of cat, than the union-thug dog-shooters who are part of the average corrupt big-city RAT/mafia hack-0-rama.
Actually, the majority of people who dislike cops on Free Republic are the people who have been "contacted" by one or more of them since they ceased being "Peace Officers" and became "Law Enforcement Officers".
I wouldn't mind them at all if there were a lot fewer of them, they shared marked police cars and they stayed at their shop or the donut shop until called on to preserve the peace.
Okay, they're also going to have to stop the no-knock raids (at the right or wrong address) and shooting people's dogs.

And sorry there are a lot of us because we have seen no “protecting and serving” for the last two decades. We have see militarization and jack booted actions. We have seen more stories about dogs being shot for no other reason then they barked at the cops. Who in most cases were at the wrong house or wrong warrant being served. We have seen old men shot by cops because they dare grab their gun from next to their bed when there is a no knock warrant being served, and the thugs break through the doors like stormtroopers. We see cops that have no respect for us law abiding citizens. Why should we embrace them and let them continue to harass and victimize us?
