Besides Ross Douthat, is there anyone left on the New York Times op-ed page who doesn’t support benign dictatorship in the name of reducing congressional gridlock? Brooks evidently does. Tom Friedman, who’s been drooling on himself for years over China’s can-do model of government, certainly does. I don’t know if Timothy Egan’s ever squarely addressed the issue but a guy who thinks O’s big problem is that his speeches aren’t flowery enough must be open to persuasion.

This inherent human problem is only exacerbated when a group of know-it-all elitists are the ones deciding who gets what power. History did not begin with FDR and it will not end with Obama.

Curiously, the know-it-all elitists only seem to favor a strong leader when the strong leader is one of them.

Why do some people want a shooting war? I sure as hell don't. Lead flying all around you is dangerous.

Some people want a shooting war for the simple reason that our democratic processes have failed. The NSA spies on us and some court ruled that they have to stop and we all know that the NSA won't stop no matter who tells them to stop. Our police anymore are starting to resemble 3rd world paramilitary death squads. The IRS is a political weapon. The US Department of Justice is the enforcement arm of the DNC.

There's a possibility that we might have a Constitutional convention and I frankly expect the participants to end up in jail or worse. Unless, of course, they support making Obama a dictator-for-life like David Brooks seems to be suggesting.

Add to this the fact that the left has an obsession for disarming Americans and the sum of it is that we just might be running out of time. What happens to us if a police force with no respect for our rights comes to take our guns? What then?

Worse; what happens next?

Myself, I don't want a shooting war but I'm in fear for my family of what happens if we don't have one.
