Exactly. A tragedy is when a big chunk of ice slides off a roof and kills a six-year-old.
So right. Tragedies are what happen when people are killed and injured by things like real accidents, tornadoes, hurricanes, and volcanic eruptions. Atrocities are the result of deliberate, evil, human action. Calling them “tragedies” diminishes the evil and accountability of the perpetrators.
