I think in many cases these days employers never get to see the details of the credit score. Rather the applications are pre screened by an outside agency that automatically rejects applications based on certain red flags one of which would be the credit score number.
My husband was out of work for two years in that time frame the majority of jobs he applied for only took applications online or at a computer kiosk at the store. The first time he did get to submit an application to an actual person he was hired.
Read through a current employment application. Many of them have a section that is modeled after an MMPI. How is that not a concern? Add that information to what is gained by having access to a credit report I can see a potential for abuse.
Some people have bad credit because the pay everything off by cash and have very little debt. What about them...are they irresponsible?
