Mysteriously if you're the New York Times or a commentator on MSNBC the country has grown weary of our first superstar president. Several national polls on the state of the nation show "wrong direction" leading "right track" by almost two to one while Obama is, at this stage of his presidency, the most unpopular U.S. chief executive since Richard Nixon.
A lot of those who make up what H.L. Mencken derisively referred to as "the smart set" are scratching their heads trying to come up with an explanation. Yet a drop in the polls makes sense if you believe his two national election victories represented a victory of style and symbolism over substance.
The bottom line is that, in both campaigns, the president was sold to the American people like a rock star, not a political candidate. His campaign strategy was to offer the voters the chance to be part of something amorphously historic rather than to give them an agenda to get America working again. As such, being for Obama was a fad, a cultural statement rather than an expression of political conviction and, as we all know, fads come and go.
Obama has entered the "go" phase, thanks largely to the negative experience far too many Americans have had with his healthcare.gov web site. Sure there were lots of other indications that trouble was on the horizon
like the failure of the trillion dollar stimulus package the massacre in Benghazi (about which there are still more legitimate questions than answers) and his latest foreign policy gambit which involves selling Israel down the river in exchange for the nebulous promise of better behavior from Iran but it's the new health care law that is hitting people where they live and they don't like it.

The problem is not America being into 0bama....it’s 0bama being into America. Kind of like having a burglar or a vandal in your house. For three more years.
I wish I could believe this, but I have relatives that are just as brainwashed as ever that he is some kind of gift of God to the world, the second coming of Kennedy, Lincoln and MLK all rolled into one.
I agree.
They think he is their Jesus
For those that have no soul.. the have to fill the hole with something.
I figured as much going all the way back to his acceptance speech at the Democratic Nat'l Convention in Denver.
Remember the Greek columns?
If the leftist frauds ever told the truth THE FOREIGNER would be 50% below Nixon. So goes the AGW SCAM, So goes THE FOREIGNER and LIBERALISM.
“I have relatives that are just as brainwashed as ever that he is some kind of gift of God to the world,..”
From Rio Linda?
The word is FRAUD.
Even worse than that. The burglar or vandal isn't backed up by a uniformed S.W.A.T. team telling you that he has a right to be there and take whatever he can.
I don’t know...even Google News and Yahoo seem to be a little embarrassed about him at this point but I’m sure they’re hoping the Republicans will somehow rescue him.
“our first superstar president”
Our first what? Who?
It’s because they gave their total devotion to him initially. Rather than approach the guy with a questioning and thoughtful attitude (as you should any politician) they fell for him with a religious passion. Hard to back-peddle when you’ve committed your heart and soul to the guy. Tough to admit you were totally conned, when you fell hook, line and sinker.
I still can’t believe so many Americans fell for all that garbage. He had fraud written all over him from the beginning if anyone was really paying attention then.

Trees aren’t into Kudzu. But ultimately the Kudzu takes all the nutrients out of the soil and blocks the sun from reaching the tree’s leaves. The RINO position is, “the Kudzu is just wanting the nutrients and sunlight that the trees don’t want”.
Sorry for the southern analogy.
