NYC Mayor: Horse-Drawn Carriages in Central Park “Inhumane,” Abortions Okay
Life News ^ | December 31, 2013 | Steven Ertelt

Bill de Blasio, New York’s incoming mayor, apparently loves animals more than people. He thinks horse-drawn carriages in Central Park are “inhumane.” But abortions in New York City, which is the abortion capital of America given its ridiculously high abortion rates? No problem.

Fox News reports on de Blasio’s concern about horse-drawn carriages:

New York City Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio has vowed to move quickly to outlaw the horse-drawn carriages that pull tourists around the city’s famous Central Park.

“We are going to get rid of the horse carriages. Period,” de Blasio, who takes office New Year’s Day, said at a news conference Monday. “They are not humane, they are not appropriate for the year 2014. It’s over. So, just watch us do it.”

Animal-rights activists say the carriage horses are overworked and claim that the city’s traffic and pollution create an unsafe environment.

“They constantly breathe exhaust while dodging dangerous traffic,” says the website of one anti-carriage group, New Yorkers for Clean, Livable, and Safe Streets (NYCLASS), “confined to the shafts of their carriage and their tiny stable stalls, with no access to green pastures.”

Drivers say that the horses are well-treated and receive plenty of vacation time in exchange for their work. They plan to fight de Blasio’s proposed ban in court, whenever it comes.

Bill Donohue of the Catholic League told LifeNews in response: “The new mayor is ready to jump start New York by seeking to ban horse-drawn carriages in Central Park, but it is not certain whether he will put this issue ahead of his plans to expand the number of abortion centers. De Blasio said yesterday that horse-drawn carriages are “inhumane,” and when he ran for mayor he said he was upset with the lack of abortion facilities in “underserved” areas.”

There is no contradiction in De Blasio’s thinking, he's a PETA guy. Both ideas, that the animals are mistreated and that abortions are good come from the same ethics.

It's grounded in the religious principle (yes animal rights is a religion) that animals are sacred and humans profane. For them, any domestic or human used animal is automatically mistreated and in fact better off dead. That's why the animal rights movement is associated with the deaths of animals and promotes the deaths of humans.

Follow the money—

These horses are stabled in the city & I’ll bet that the value of that land is now about $1 million per square inch.

Kick out the carriage trade & those stables will be converted to some more downtown New York City high rises.

A smart move would be for a city like Philadelphia to offer to take all the horses, carriages, and drivers/owners & to offer them a nice new stable & bring those tourists into their city.

The people crying the loudest about how these horses are treated cannot keep a goldfish alive.

I have horses—have had them since 1986. I moved out of a N Calif area because of the influx of Liberals from San Fran who couldn’t keep their cats alive with the coyotes & who thought they could criticize everything about all the other large animals near their properties. ‘

I cannot even describe how stupid they all were. I finally sold my property & left. Now, they are demanding that the county control the wild animals—mountain lion- bears-skunks-rattlesnakes—all of same. Don’t know why they moved to anything rural. They are clueless.

New York City Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio has vowed to move quickly to outlaw the horse-drawn carriages that pull tourists around the city’s famous Central Park.

Well, those tourists are going to spend their money elsewhere. All because of Miley Cyrus, who thinks those poor widdle horsies are getting mistreated.

“Many cities in the United States have mounted units, with New York having one of the largest with 79 officers and 60 horses”

Does that mean 19 guys have to ride double or do they walk alongside?

New York City already got one bailout.

They certainly don’t deserve another.

Instead of worrying about crime & The Knockout Game being played on it’s streets, they are putting people out of work with the horse carriages issue.

When these numbskull voters flee NY and come here they’d better leave their malignant voting patterns behind in their urban Communist paradise...

I see the connection here. What the mayor really wants is for the horse owners to take the horses into the middle of Central Park and put a bullet between their eyes. Just a postpartum horse abortion.

That would be more humane.

You’re not teaching me anything I didn’t already know. But, you do oversimplify and that can confuse.

A Progressive is a Marxist, but not necessarily a Communist. Even though the FINAL goal of all Marxist systems is communism, the actual Progressive may not know what he supports.

I use the term “Progressive” because that’s what the contemporary Leftist/Liberal/Marxist has chosen to call himself. Let them create the label and then expose it.

So, whether the individual Progressive is a full-blown Communist, a softer Socialist, or even a schizophrenic “Socially liberal, but fiscally conservative”, I prefer to hang the Progressive label on them all without calling them ALL Communists because very few of them support the abolition of private property. Call them a Communist and they can weasel out on that fact alone.
