It is interesting to note that last November, ONLY 22% OF NEW YORK CITY RESIDENTS BOTHERED TO VOTE.
The other 78% DID NOT EVEN SHOW UP.
They’ll be sorry they didn’t. And how.
The other interpretation of this information might conclude that the 78% looked at the polls that had DeBlasio far ahead and decided they didn’t need to vote. Their guy was already winning.
I met so few real conservatives up there. Or even RINO’s. It’s really not some place worth saving. Let them implode. Just don’t use fed tax dollars to bail them out.
Then, to pursue the metaphor, 22 percent screwed the 78 percent.

If I were a NYC voter, I probably wouldn’t have showed up either. The Republican offering was a pretty weak link as well, not to mention the fact he had no chance.
they probably didn’t show up because you know, the other guy was probably just as bad, or maybe he was Mormon, or maybe he wasn’t really hard core conservative or maybe he was a rino...you know all the important reasons NOT to vote......
That's because De Blasio's opponent had all the charm of nail clippings and met with the shakedown artists like Sharpton. Lhota had none of Rudy's charisma.
I used to work the elections when I was living in brooklyn. A 25 percent turnout, give or take a few percentage points, for a mayoral election sounds about right. We sometimes got a lower turnout for congressional elections. Our biggest turnout were the presidential elections. Then, only about 50 percent of registered voters bothered to vote.

Why do you assume they can even vote? An increasing number of people in the NYC metro area are illegal aliens; the governments (and school teachers) here would prefer them to high vacancies and empty classrooms. One of our previous governors admitted that NJ had lost population without taking illegals into account; we lost an electoral vote in the last census even as out population grew.
Amnesty it designed to make these illegals into voters; otherwise we have a situation like that which led to the “3/5 compromise” (where a formula was designed to account for the electoral value of slave populations in the southern states).
