WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court has refused a group of doctors' request to block implementation of the nation's new health care law.

Chief Justice John Roberts turned away without comment Monday an emergency stay request from the Association of American Physicians & Surgeons, Inc. and the Alliance for Natural Health USA.

Bush’s fault...for real.

Thousands of dead Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan to no purpose, Homeland Security, the “Patriot Act”, millions of illegals, expensive dangerous light bulbs made in Red China, NSA abuses - ALL had their genesis under Bush II.

Do you miss him yet?

A long time ago during his last term of office I predicted he would be a curse on the lips of every Conservative. Regrettably I was right.

Possibly the biggest idiot to ever sit in the White House. He makes Jimmy Carter look like a rocket scientist.

Simple question:
Can a Supreme Court Justice act alone or does this decision not to stay Obamacare involve the other justices?

I doubt he can act alone on this

To those complaining about Roberts' ObamaCare decision.

Please read the US constitution Article I Sections 7 and 8.

The ObamaCare law was legally passed by a Democrat House, Senate, and President.

It might be bad legislation, but the only legitimate solution is to get Democrats out of office and get Obamacare repealed by the House, Senate and President.

Go sit in the corner with the pointy hat.

Plenty of laws passed by Congress have been overturned if the Leftists on the Supreme Court disapprove of them. The most recent: The Defense of Marriage Act.

So, in your opinion the Supreme Courts tortured reasoning in upholding a clearly Unconstitutional law was good because the Senate, House, and President followed regular order in passing it.

In which case, please explain why DOMA was overturned.

I'll wait for your brilliant legal argument.

I'll also wait for you to explain to me the pResident's clearly Unconstitutional selective enforcement of the PPACA, which he is required to enforce by the same Constitution you pretend to be invoking to defend his lawlessness.

Yep.

There was a story posted here just the other day relating how we were now seeing the payoff of Roberts' brilliant, conservative move as Obamacare crashes and burns and liberals are made to look bad.

Well, Obamacare is still here. The republicans have pissed away the huge momentum against Obamacare given them by Cruz and Paul. And, Roberts is STILL protecting the un-Constitutional law.

He's got to be completely compromised by something.

It's a voice of nonsense.

We don't subscribe to the theory of parliamentary supremacy in this country, and a bill is not a Constitutionally valid statute just because it's been passed and signed.

"All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution, are null and void."
-- Chief Justice Marshall, for the Majority, Marbury v. Madison,

So you are saying that Roberts ruled in accordance with the Constitution. Right?

That name sounds familiar. Didn’t Judge Janice Brown get dropped from consideration because she had an “Illegal Maid” problem? I seem to recall some minor detail that canceled her out of contention. Further back than that, in the 1980s there was a judge who was dropped from consideration for the supreme court because he admitted to smoking marijuana. That was hella-shocking back then, nowadays, he may write an article for Esquire about the finer points of studying for the bar exam while high as a kite.

No. She had no personal problems.

She was blocked by Democrats because she was black and conservative. Her nomination to the Appeals Court was what formed the first Gang of 14. She was eventually confirmed to the federal courts.

Further back than that, in the 1980s there was a judge who was dropped from consideration for the supreme court because he admitted to smoking marijuana.

That was Douglas Ginsberg. He was nominated by Ronald Reagan to replace Robert Bork, who was rejected by Democrats in the Senate.

Nina Totenberg of NPR played up the revelations that Ginsberg smoked marijuana during and after college (just like Obama), and Ginsberg was hounded into withdrawing his nomination.

Anthony Kennedy was eventually confirmed to SCOTUS.

Roberts decided some time ago to let Obama hoist himself on his own petard. He’s washed his hands of Obamacare and is just going to sit back and watch the democrats suffer for it.

At least that’s what I’m hoping for.
