AN Adelaide family has made a personal appeal to US President Barack Obama to release their daughter from a prison where she is serving time for stealing food stamps from the US Government. The single mother of two young has spent the past year in jail after the FBI arrested her for using a false social security number to try and obtain food stamps so she could feed her two young daughters. Louise Early's family, in Adelaide's south, say she was homeless and driven to desperation after her seven-year marriage to Eugene Early, a US marine, broke down and he failed to apply for her to become a citizen.The Australian Foreign Affairs Department then botched her passport application for more than six months so she could not bring the girls home, during which time she was arrested. Ms Early's visually impaired mother Jenny Smith, 62, of Hackham said she had brought her two grandchildren home from Baltimore last February but now feared Louise's multiple medical problems meant she would not make it home. The girls, Jenae 8 and Kaylea 7, are living with Jenny and their grandfather John, are attending an Adelaide school and have pleaded for the safe return of their mother. Their house in Hackham is adorned with family photographs, messages of love and support and mementos of their lives in the US and here.

What she did was wrong, but there were extenuating circumstances. On this one — the woman has done time. Have mercy, and let her go to her children. The US Marine in question was a douche for not adequately supporting his children. Make HIM do the rest of the time!
So they FINALLY found a white girl who was scamming the system. BIG WHOOP, how many ILLEGAL residents are doing worse than this woman.
I am NOT excusing her, I am only trying to point out the double standard here.
At least she *tried* to follow MOSST of the rules. What can you say about, oh nevermind I’m preaching to a choir.

She is a destitute single mom who thought that once she got to America she could abandon ehr father of he children and eat milk and honey.
The system takes care of the children he is not competent to support while she languishes in jail
I stole once to feed my children. If I had to I would do it again.

Great lesson for the kids you profess to care so much about. “Be self justifying crooks, kids, it’s a Moral right.
Did you go to the trouble of using a fake SSN to fill out the paper work and then wait for the processing time for food stamps to arrive before stealing to feed your children?
There is a difference between stealing a pack of cookies because your children are hungry right now and planning and waiting to defraud the system for food stamps.(this happened a few years ago and people were pretty sympathetic to the women who really was desperate to feed her children)
And the part of the story about the Marine she married makes this entire story seem fishy. He had to provide support as soon as they separated or his command would hang him.
How so? the pictures are of two little girls, their grandparents and of the women and her Marine on their wedding day. Unless you are making a comment about their race, I don't get what is so "interesting" or "very interesting" about the pictures on the site.
One of the comments was that they were all overweight - photos don’t show that at all.
If she was Black or Hispanic it would have worked like a charm.
Par for the course, not a word about the victimisation of the person whose SS number she stole, about how that may have messed up their life.

Did you notice the wording of the story ? It was a silly mistake to steal a SSN. The woman has a vaild point up until she steals SSN belonging to another. That’s unaccaeptable. WE have read FR how for some it took years to get the SSN’S,credit cards,credit report,,etc,etc taken care after someone illegally used their number.Stealing SSN is stealing someone’s life and this not right, no matter how well her intentions can of been.Once caught refer to it as silly mistake,laws are unfair. Be the victim of having your ssn stolen and see it anybody would agree with the woman whose number was taken, that it was silly mistake. Stealing SSN.crosses the line.
