Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tx) says he is optimistic that some sort of immigration reform can be considered and possibly approved by Congress this year.
But Cornyn told 1200 WOAI news it won't be the 'comprehensive' type of immigration reform that the White House is demanding.
"Particularly after the failure of Obamacare, the people are very skeptical of thousand page bills," Cornyn said.
He says there is talk among Senate Republicans of a 'bit by bit' approach, which could include an expansion in the visa program for people who attend and graduate from college in the United States.

Cornyn is an enemy of conservatives.

I think many of us are sick unto death of the “lesser evil.”
If we could only get together and do something about it.
I joke that I am going to establish the Curmudgeon Party and run for office on the position, “This is Bullshit.”
I think, though, that the scatology would offend too many of the people that the Curmudgeon Party would hope to attract.

I hope enough of us are sick of lesser evil. The ONLY reason we can’t get out poop together is our own supposed members keep fighting those of us who are sick of lesser evil.
See last primaary for a perfect example played out over months.
Reform the Immigration Law:
Declare illegal entry or visa overstay a felony punishable with 10 years of hard labor collecting bear scat in Alaska’s Denali National Park.
But it’s LESSER EVIL! Onyx! We were told right here on FR that we ALWAYS have to give in and go along or we are supporting Obama.
So surely we have to reach across the asile and destroy what remains of America so our friends in the GOPe won’t be mad.
He is; he just doesn’t know it, yet.
There are enough other decent-to-good options. Cornyn will not get a majority in the primary, and lose in a runoff that won’t be all that close.
The Texas tea party types don’t like him and all the conservative groups will support almost anyone but Cornyn.
Cornrow gets the boot.
Cornyn is burning through cash for radio ads like he is printing it.
Vigorous enforcement of the current laws would solve the illegal alien problems, including deportation.
.... but you already KNOW that, too.
