New wonders every day.

It is my understanding that a human does not want to breath O2 below a depth of 30ft. or less.

Pretty cool but there are a myriad of factors to be considered. I wonder how much its been tested.

I hate trusting my life to a battery.

>> The micro battery is a next-generation technology with a size 30 times smaller than current battery that can quickly charge 1,000 times faster.
When you’re actually under the water and your life depends on that battery, those parameters are sort of not the important ones. :-)

Very cool. I wonder what happens when silt clogs up the pores?

Just came back from a diving vacation in Puerto Rico. I wonder why they call it a "mask" when there's nothing covering the eyes? Do reporters not have common sense anymore? (rhetorical question)
Breathing oxygen is not healthy below about 18 feet. There's a reason they put AIR in the tanks, not oxygen.

Hey, I just got a pacemaker, so I already depend on batteries. I’m thinking an implantable version of this baby. I wanna be an amphibian cyborg!

Especially one that is 30 times smaller...than anything.
Negative space?

So we're stealing oxygen from those poor fishies and polluting their water with C02?
And the methane coming out of our bodies will kill the whales.
Humans must be banned from using water.

It might work on the surface but I’m pretty sure it won’t work at depth.
Every 33 ft you need to generate another Bar of pressure just to be able to expand your lungs against water pressure.

There are "dust masks", etc., that only cover the mouth and nose.
Or diving masks that only cover the eyes...
Then there is the term "full face mask".

I’ll let someone else try it first.

The only problem I see from the description is that humans breathe air (21% oxygen)....not oxygen. Scuba tanks contain compressed air...not oxygen.
Unless there is something that does the mixing between the oxygen storage and the mouthpiece.

Wow, an invention that covers 90% of swimming situations and 100% of emergencies isn’t good enough?! America is doomed.
