A stain on the intellect of mankind.

The number of Americans who believe global warming isn't happening has risen to 23 percent

The author of this article doesn't even know that Global Warming has been changed to Global Climate Change in order to cover up the bad Global Warming Predictions:

1) No snow in England
2) Polar Bears gone from the Artic
3) Coastal Cities Gone
4) Antarctic Sea Ice disappearing 5) Etc.

And now that we are freezing, they want to use a Global Cooling scare, but can't because of the bad predictions in the 70s; hence Global Climate Change.

It's all about power plays.

Forty-seven percent of Americans say that if global warming is happening, it is caused mostly by human activities. This is the belief backed up by the scientific evidence; in the most recent report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in September 2013, scientists agreed that it is "extremely likely" that human emissions of greenhouse gases are causing the planet to warm. Thirty-seven percent of Americans reject this consensus, saying that climate change is most likely caused by natural fluctuations.

Boy, they really keep trying to hammer in that it's a fact, consensus, etc. angle, don't they?

Typical ignorant, sloppy reporting all through this story. First, they confuse "global warming" with "climate change" -- even the Warmists have learned their lesson on this one.

Second, the unspoken assumption here is that climate change is caused by humans; one can believe in "climate change" via natural causes (in fact, one should, as Earth's climate is constantly changing, for a variety of complex reasons and by a variety of complex causes.)

Third, the question arises that even if #1 and #2 are accepted, what are we supposed to do about it? End industrial civilization? Spend billions on a non-existent threat? Financially support AlGore's overly comfortable retirement?

Finally, if everyone believed in witches (a "consensus"), am I therefore justified in burning the nasty woman living next door to me as a witch? After all, the "majority" agrees with me.

Pure idiocy.

The number of Americans who believe global warming isn't happening has risen to 23 percent

Did they get their polling numbers from the UN? I don't believe these numbers.

The cry of “global warming” is a sign of insanity. Treat these freaks accordingly, they are a threat to society.

Interesting, the title says “climate change” yet the body of the article says “global warming”...

Two completely different things...

No bias here..../ S

Also, look up what most of the “consensus scientists” have degrees in. 97% are in fields having NOTHING to do with climate or weather.

Oh, I’m sure the climate is changing. I’m sure what mankind is doing has just about zero measurable impact or contribution to that. I’m 100% absolutely sure there is nothing we can do to significantly alert the path climate change is taking. In short, we are along for the ride, to think we are at the wheel is self aggrandizing folly.

A real theory in hard science is basically a postulation of an effect and how to cause that effect and how to conduct the study to get repeatable results. Granted that real climate science requires so many variables as to need a high-level computer just to get started, still the requirements would be that the model matches the real world. Add to this the modern underpinning of current scientific theory, Sir Karl Popper's 'Falsification', which leads to being able to specify what the conditions are that would render a theory either false or needing further study.

The proponents of this theory have failed all of the above tests. Their results do not match real world, their tests cannot be repeated by non-partisan researchers. Their spokespeople blame every news making weather extreme on this same cause, which demonstrates ideology rather than science. In short, current 'climate change' theory, as spoken of by politicians and advocates, is more of a religion than science!

The more science you know, the less worried you are about climate

This, in a just-published US National Science Foundation-funded study, participants’ science knowledge and numeracy was tested and compared with levels of concern regarding climate change. The soft-studies profs were amazed, however, to find that as one moves up the scale of science knowledge and numeracy, people become more sceptical, not less.

Our goobermint’s answer to this will to be:

Deny grants, loans or scholarships for hard sciences students and increase those for journalism majors. (gotta have them to spread the BS from the “studies” put out by the race baiters ,”queer studies” majors, women’s studies students, and “environmental justice” majors.)

global warming is a hoax

63% of Americans still believe in the global warming hoax

this shows that the news media still rules this country and will forever

we are living in the matrix , an alternate false reality created solely by our overlords , the news media.

and who are the news media? they are the most rabid socialists/marxists namely democrats

“The number of Americans who believe global warming isn’t happening has risen to 23 percent, up 7 percentage points since April 2013.”

Reads like a religion survey.

NBC sucks. Climate change has been happening since the beginning. The earth has been warming and cooling in cycles for a long, long time. Whether humans are responsible for that change has always been the question. NBC, at least from the excerpt, appears to be ignoring that entirely.

only 23%?

NBC must be faking numbers AGAIN to make it seem less than 60 percent.
